"Its been many years since I have heard your voice over the crowd. You were always cheering for us. I will never forget you and how I always thought you had superhero powers that allowed you to display great qualities that every warrior dreams of having. You're one in a million. I can't wait until we dedicate our field to you on Sunday. It's your field. You definitely claimed it well. The memories I have of you fill my heart with hope that we will meet again one day."

"I served with Paul on the USS Kittyhawk in 1996-7. He was an outstanding Marine and an even better person. I was deeply saddened to hear of his death but I know heaven is a better place with Paul there. I will never forget you brother, Semper Fidelis!"

In this time of the holiday season we should honor and remember our loved ones who cannot be with us, especially a man like Mike, who gave the ultimate sacrifice abroad to defend our liberties at home. I wish many things could have been different, yet I honor your memory, look up to your exemplary, and offer my prayers and condolences for your family.

"Felsberg Family,
I'm 20 years old and live in Tampa Florida. Once a year, a large group of people get together and participate in a 5k run for fallen soldiers. You receive a picture and a name of a fallen soldier to run in honor of. I just wanted to let you know, that this year I ran in honor of Paul. I know he spoke to me during the run because there is no way I would've made it that far without his help. <3"

"I never want to forget the sacrifices of so many young men and women. I am so proud it makes me cry at times. I understand, in theory only, that war is a part of human nature but so is love and caring. I wish I could take your families and friends pain away but I can't. I am committed to loving ALL people, myself and our environment. I am committed to working on my happiness everyday because so many have died for my freedom to live my life. Thank you is not enough but it is all I have. All my love and respect. ogersteiner@yahoo.com

A hundred times a day, I remind myself that my inner and outer life depends on the labors of other men, living and dead, and I must exert myself in order to give in the same measure as I have received and am receiving. - Albert Einstein"

"I joined the Marines with Paul in Miami and we also went to OCS together. I remember countless mornings of PT alongside Paul with Capt Carrasco at Tropical Park. I also remember the reassurance I felt when I saw that Paul was bunked next to me at OCS Seniors in 2001. Paul was a true leader and was respected and admired by all his colleagues and friends. Paul knew what it meant to lead from the front. Above all, Paul believed in freedom and fought to ensure the human rights of generations to come. A Marine's Marine and a true warrior, I will never forget his spirit and his sacrifice. I take comfort knowing he stands guard at the Golden Gates.

"Mike,
I am sure you probably don't remember me. It is Gil Lopez, the stocky guy from JIl you led while at the various CC meets, I will never forget you. I too joined our beloved Corps in March of 98' and lost track of you while I was serving, sorry about that. Coach Gamez spoke to me about your sacrifice to our nation and I really wanted to be their for you. Now as an officer myself, I realize the sacrifice you gave to our nation by putting your men first! I will always remember you "Beaker". Every time I salute our flag, I will remember you and your sacrifice to our nation. Felsberg, you are my HERO and your memory will live for ever!!! SEMPER FI! Brother! I only wish my life is as glorious as yours.

Gil,

"Dear Paul M. Felsberg Family, My sincerest condolences on your loss. My name is Marc Dull, I am a USAF Veteran and an Artist from Illinois. Thank you for your Paul's Honorable Service and Ultimate Sacrifice for America and it's Values. His Legacy will endure by God! I found Paul's Memorial page while doing some research for a very important project that I thought you might want to know about. I just returned from Camp Pendleton where I visited the Commanding Officer of the 5th Regiment. I am preparing to sculpt a large monument specifically for the 5th Regiment and the Fallen Heroes in Operation Iraqi Freedom for the Memorial Garden area on Camp San Mateo there. Please e-mail me at dullart7@cs.com if you would like to contribute any input or feedback. I would be honored by your participation on behalf of Paul! Semper Fidelis, God Bless you and your Family, Salute."

"To the Felsberg Family,

I cannot express in words my sincere gratitude to your family for Paul's actions to his fellow Marines and nation. He paid the ultimate sacrifice and he will be remembered always by his brothers and sisters in arms.

My life as an officer in the Marine Corps has just begun. For myself, there is much to learn so that I may truly serve my Marines one day as the officer they deserve. Your son witnesses to the highest standards of courage and self-sacrifice and he is a beautiful example to all of us. Ductus Exemplo.

I pray for your family as you must suffer through the loss of your son, friend, and loved one. I pray that beyond all the feelings of pain and meaninglessness, you eventually find hope and peace.

Thank you for your incredible generosity. Thank you for the profound testimony that your son gives to not just those who have known him, but to us who walk the halls he has walked, and to those who will serve the Corps as he has served the Corps. May God bless you each and everyday."
Adam, 2nd Lt of TBS

"To the family of 2LT Paul Felsberg: His 2/5 has now returned from its second deployment to Iraq. I want to thank Paul, and the other men who made the ultimate sacrifice, for watching from above over my "adopted" Marine in Fox 2/5 and getting him home safely. Please accept my condolences on your loss. The young men and women who serve this country are what keeps it free and safe. Without those willing to sacrifice we would not be the greatest country on earth. Semper Fi!"

"Miguelito:
How sad I am to write this. I only remember you as a carefree high school student, my captain on the cross country team, classmate, biking buddy when we were too young or too poor to drive, swimming buddy, and, sadly, not as the upstanding adult I am sure you became. Sorry that we missed each other at FIU. Sorry that I won't see you at the high school reunion. If you read this, please know that I will always have a special place for you in my memories. My prayers to your family; I can't imagine their sadness."

"I bunked next to Felsberg when we were in PLC Jrs, summer of 2000. I can distinctly remember his blazing speed and how he would inspire the platoon by outrunning the instructors. Not only was he one of the fastest Marines I've ever met, but he was an outstanding leader too. He spent countless hours of his free time helping the younger candidates (like myself)learn how to be Marines. I will forever owe him a debt of gratitude, and can only hope to lead my Marines in combat as well as he did. Semper Fi Felsberg!"
1stLt Tim Howard, 3dBn,8thMAR of Camp Lejeune, NC

"To Mike's Family and Friends,
Although I only met Mike a few times, it was enough for me to understand what a great man and great marine he was. Mike was greatly respected by many of his fellow marines. I am deeply saddened by this loss and my prayers go out to you.

"To the family of 2nd Lt Paul Felsberg. My name is Major Michael Bruno and I heard this devastating news from one of my former platoon commanders. I was Lt Felsberg's Company Commander at Camp Pendleton for almost two years. I remember him well. Words cannot do justice or even begin to express my heartfelt condolences concerning the gravity of this event. If for only a moment I could remove even an ounce of the pain you are no doubt feeling.... Unfortunately, this cannot be. Know however that your son will be remembered by myself and other Marines who knew him, with honor, respect, and awe for every day and night of our remaining lives. The Corps will never forget. Again, please accept my condolences and prayers during this difficult time.

Semper Fidelis"

"To Paul M. “Mike” Felsberg's family I offer my most sincere and heartfelt condolences. You will continue to be in my thoughts and prayers for years to come. I was Mike's platoon commander at Camp Pendleton when he was an enlisted Marine. I remember him well. He was a great Marine with a steady confidence that the younger men in his squad were drawn to. He was never too busy to help out one of the young guys in his charge and always showed genuine concern for their well being. He naturally put others before himself. I received an e-mail from him last summer before he deployed to Iraq. He was very excited to come over here, and I thought about how fortunate the Marines of his platoon must be to get a leader like 2ndLt Felsberg as a platoon commander. Mike shall remain in my memory, Semper Fidelis."

"Our son was also a 2nd Lt when he was killed in Iraq. We are so sorry that another family lost a beloved son. You will always miss him and always long for a call from him, but it does get easier as time passes. May it be of help to know that other families may not know exactly what you are going through or feeling at this time but we have been in similar shoes and do understand your pain.
