"The LT was an intelligent, humble man of integrity who never asked anything of us that he wouldn't do himself. These are rare qualities in themselves but to find them all in one person is almost unbelievable. It was a great honor to have worked for him and with him. I continue to think of him often and will never forget him."
Dix of Collinsville, IL

"I had the great oppurtunity of working with LT. Micheal J. Fasnact, I was not in his unit but saw him on a daily basis. He was an awsome leader. He lead by example he never asked something of his men that he would not personally do himself and that made him stand out as a leader. Often times as I would be walking to the guard tower for guard duty he would be right out there with the soldeirs doing vechicle maintaince, and what ever needed to be done. He was never afraid to roll up his sleeves and get down and get the job done. I was in the guard tower I heard and saw the tradgedy happened, my heart sank in shock awe and anger. The whole base was highly angered and deeply saddened from his loss. We performed a beautiful memorial service there on our base, he was that highly respected. All of the soldeirs will miss him and never forget him.
