Im sorry it took 10 years but its hard. My father missed you coming in for a hair cut and all of us talking about cars. The last I talked you were married and so happy I know I congratulated you but I never got a chance to congratulate your wife. Im not good at writing but I just want to say im so glad to have you as a friend. My deepest sympathy and condolence go out to your wife and family. Thoughts and prayers miss you buddy"

"March 1, 2010
Dear Seth-
Six anniversaries have passed now since you were KIA, The day you were killed was the worst day of my life. I tried to be strong for those that could not. The pain was so severe I did not think it would ever go away. The pain is still there and will remain for the rest of my life. I miss you son.
You are my son, my friend, my confidant and my idol.
Baby Seth will be 4 years old March 17, 2010. You would be proud of him if you met him. He knows who his Uncle Seth is. He looks at your pictures and says "Poppop that is Uncle Seth."
Rebekah is busy being Rebekah but she miss you dearly.
I am working for New Jersey Veterans Helpline caring for Iraq and Afghanistan vets that are being victimized by TBI and PTSD. I like my job, and I feel that I am carrying out your mission to care for you men. I have finaly started to reach out to the men in your Platoon. I hope I can reach them all.
Little Amber is 8 years old now and growing into a pretty young lady. She will be my flying buddy now that she is bigger. When Baby Seth gets a little older then I will take both with me.
The Stang is in the garage and after the winter I will start using it again. I do not like to use it in the rain and snow.
Rest in Peace my son, my hero. I love you and miss you everyday. Soon we will be together.

"It's never to late to read about a true hero. I found this site by researching how to help our veterans. No way I could find it and not leave a comment. Seth is a hero. No one can say otherwise. His parents suffer ever day becuase he's not with us but I can only hope that their pain is tempered by those of us who loved him and did not even know him. We'll be with him a lot sooner than we think.
God take care of him till we get there, and help us be strong."
James 'Spy.' Reilly of Cincinnati, Ohio USA

"For every mother, father, sister brother, husband, wife and child left behind,
Your loved ones gave all that they had for us all and I thank you from the bottom of my heart.

"I served with Lt. Seth Dvorin and Major Gallager, in OIF 3 and 4. My name is Sgt.McClean(then Spc.) I was assigned to 10th MTN, 3-6FA. Now NCNG.
I got to know Lt. Dvorin well. I was from NY and he was from NJ, so of course we had something in common from the start. We became could friends and I would volunteer to FO for his platoon (3-62 ADA, 10 MTN) not because I had to, but because I liked Lt. Dvorin.
I think the best tribute I could offer would be this. We have completed CMO missions and he was about to be assigned his ADA platoon. Lt. Dvorin was a little nervous and asked me what to expect. I told him act as you are now, never be afraid to ask questions and without a moment after I finished that sentence he stated "lookout and lead my men". That was the man Lt. Dvorin was, I seen him grow from the moment we arrived in Iraq in 03, new fresh out of NJ and ROTC, to a leader with confindence. Heck, I seen him in a wrestling match with the Chaplin ( all in fun), now that takes... well you know. Here is something to think. The day he died to an IED in Haswa, Iraq. He took lead, point ahead of his men 3-62 ADA. That just shows his spirit.
To his wife, Seth was very happy when he went home on leave and married you. He smiled all the way through January up and until Febraury. Seth really did love you, he even compared you to my girlfriends, boy was he happy.
Well I'd ETS 10th MTN and did another tour of OIF with NCNG, and I again will serve in OIF my fourth tour begining in NOV 08.
Well, everytime I am in that country I think of Lt.Dvorin, I wear a KIA bracelet with in name and date of his death. That is how I honor his memory, new privates and 2nd LTs, ask about the braclet and I pass on the story of Lt.Seth Dvorin.
PS-Major Gallegher, I told you when I ETS I would be a Cop, by the way sorry about cracking on you about the Gaurd, espically since I am in the Guard now. Ironic huh.
Lt. Dvorin, he lives on, always and forever, I promise his death is not in vein, I, we who contiue to serve and has served will not let this war end without a TRUE victory.

"I served with Seth in Iskandariyah and feel great pain in the loss of his Life. He was a young, bright and very candid young officer who felt at ease with joking around with his superiors but took his duties seriously. He died that horrific day by leading from the front, on foot, checking for IEDs and when he halted his platoon, he discovered an ied and turned warning others to get down and began running when it exploded. He died but saved many others that day and I will never forget my friend, you are my Hero! I often think of that terrible day when God opened the gates of Heaven and welcomed you home, away from the misery, and someday I hope to hug you and thank you personally. You will never be forgotten!"

"In my few years of voluntary military service, I worked alongside proud veterans of three major wars. It would be fruitless here to tell Americans--particularly those who likewise served--why we donned our uniforms, and why we wore them with such pride. But I do think someone should explain our code of honor to Cindy Sheehan. Between writing books, uplifting North Korea, and doggedly, angrily promoting her personal political agenda, she seems to have forgotten or misunderstood that we're celebrating the lives' of Seth Dvorin and millions others who've given their lives in the service of our country. This isn't about Cindy Sheehan. It never was."
J. Roosevelt of New York

"Seth:
Just a note to say I will never forget the times we had in OBC and at FT Drum. I think of you and your family everyday. I will always remember what an honorable and stellar man you are. I deployed to OIF a month after I went to your funeral and I can't help but think that you were part of the reason I made it home safe. Thanks for looking after me and all your boys from on high. I miss you and I will never forget you."
CPT Ryan N. Propst of FT BLiss, TX

"You're a hero. I hope the nation ONE DAY realizes who killed you. Some little brainwashed, evil nut who deliberately planted a bomb to harm civilians or THOSE who are trying to aid civilians, and their future generations. One day I hope this world blames the actual culprit instead of re-directing their accusations."

"I would like to share with all who read this, the bravery of this man. While on patrol he noticed the explosive device that took his life. He was the closest soldier to the bomb, the leader, leading from the front. He knew he only had a split second to react to the bomb he had spotted, and he used that split second to save the lives of his his platoon members by yelling a warning! That was a true act of bravery. Thank you for your sacrifices Seth and family."

"My son(inlaw) is now stationed in Iraq. I just got an email from him about the loneliness and appreciation for a small package I just sent. It's the first package he has received so far. My heart to your family. I hated this war before it began. But I am an Air Force Brat who has a Korean Vet for a daughter and a Iraqi Vet for a son(inlaw). They are my only children and I can't imagine my grandson growing up without either one of them. The tears I am presently shedding cannot begin to erase the pain felt by any parent who loses a child before their time. May our world someday understand that war is not the answer to the problems of our planet - may some day our president utter the words "God bless our world" and our children be safe. Much love."
Donna Vogelpohl of Tulsa, OK

"I am a former Unites States Marine who participated in Desert Storm. I did not know Seth Dvorin but I have read the messages and understand he was a dedicated soldier who lived with a high code of morals and ethics. He died protecting his brothers locally but he was also protecting the world globally. His efforts and the loss of his life was not in vain. He gave his life making the world a safer place for everyone. Not just for us fellow Americans. Every race, every county, everybody. God has welcomed this soldier with open arms and reserved a special place for him. Seth's work is not done - he just got started. Mr & Mrs. Dvorin I do not know your pain but I understand it due to the loss of a fellow Marine in 1991. I still feel that loss and it never goes away. I can only hope that you will someday find comfort in knowing your son was a true hero and he died as such. I salute your son and I thank him. I will not forget his name nor his or your sacrifice protecting me and my family. My thoughts and prayers are with you!"
Sgt. David Girt USMC 1986 - 1994 of Medina, Ohio USA

"Seth was one of my best friends through college. I can only remember the smile on his face and his love of everyone. I wish he had decided to surf the world instead of fight in it, but it was exactly what he always spoke of doing. This war is one I suffer with every day. I hear the mention of it and think of my lost friend. He was the first to cheer up a person, the first to lend a hand when help was needed, and the guy who always had a joke. This terrible situation took away someone good in the world. Seth, we miss you."
Jon Lomurro of Freehold, NJ

I'm sorry that I found out so late about this. I wish I had found out sooner. I was shocked when I heard the news that Kevin had told us. I remember meeting you freshmen year, the quirky dorky kid who was Kevin's roommate. You were so funny and sweet and through the years, you became a great friend. You were my Valentine sophomore year when we both didn't have anyone, we had each other. I still have that rose, I will keep it close to me always. I remember seeing you at graduation - you stopped to give me a hug and you were so proud and happy to have made it through 4 years of Rutgers. I remember just speaking to you towards the end of last year. I told you how proud I was of you that you were fighting for our country. I was amazed by what a different person you had become since college. You took a stand to fight for this nation, and that will never be forgotten. I am still so proud of you. Your memory will last forever. To the Dvorin family and Kelly - I have never met you, but I want you to know that your son was one amazing individual. Sweet, sincere, caring, funny, intelligent, brave and honorable. It is an honor for me to have had the opportunity to know him. His bravery will never be forgotten. God Bless."
