"Ma'am i am sorry for the loss of your son. It sounds like you raised a very kind and generous individual. I am sure that all your sons are like that, i am currently serving on active duty (Army) and have been for the past 21 yrs. Your son sounds like he was that one person who could light up anyones day reguardless of what kind of a day you were having. I want to thank your sons for thier service to our Great Country and thank you for letting them serve. I have been a CAO for a soldier that has come back from the middle east and it was even hard for me to perform my duties with the family each and everyday. Again thank you and your family for all the sacrifice. May God Bless You and Your Family."
Tony of Ft. Bliss, TX by way of Larned, Kansas

"Drexler Family,
I was a close friend of Jeremy all through highschool and share many good memories of late nights with him, Debra, Greg, and others. My sister Elissa was friends with Tim for awhile as well. I learned of Jeremy's death about a month before I left for basic training. Soon I'm leaving on my 2nd deployment, and Jeremy's memory travels with me everywhere I go. I mourn your loss, Jeremy was a great guy, one of the most memorable people I've ever met, and will NEVER forget. If you ever need to contact me, i'm reachable at Derek.Powelson@hill.af.mil He will be forever missed, but never forgotten."

"This is to the Drexler family. I have recieved your e-mail from the soliders angles suport groop, and I am hounered to have such a loving mother/family suporting us all out here. I too have a brother in the army who was scheduled to deploy to Iraq. You mentioned that one of your other sons work on the flight deck in a squadron. This is where I started my carrer in the Navy. I now work in AIMD on the USS Kearsarge in Norfolk VA. With every letter I read about Jeremy I feel chills run through my skin. It seems like I am reading about my family only praising the Lord almighty that we have not lost one of our own. We all lived so close together. I grew up in DeSoto/Bonner Springs Just a short drive. It means so much to me that you are reaching out with open arms to give support to those of us here. Lord knows we all, you included, need a hug of support every now and then. Thank you for not giving up on us. May God be with you and help you through your never ending grief."

"My name is CPT Jeff Wells. I had the honor of being Jeremy's platoon leader from August 2003 until his death on 2 May 2004. Jeremy was the finest soldier in the platoon. He worked day and night before we deployed, harder than any other soldier, to make sure the platoon was ready. When we arrived in Iraq, he was our platoon's finest gunner, sending many terrorists to see Allah. He was always laughing, joking, and keeping us all in a great mood. I know Jeremy's watching us right now, and I know he'd be very proud of what the rest of his fellow soldiers accomplished after he died. His platoon, especially his squad, led by SSG Jones, dedicated each and every day to going out into Baghdad and doing whatever it took to make Jeremy proud. Jeremy will never be forgotton, and it was truly an honor to serve with him. Thank you Jeremy for everything. (jeffrey.a.wells@us.army.mil)"

"To the Drexler Family:
I would like you to know that you are all in my heart and my prayers always. I know that your loss was a great one but remember he died a hero and each of us can never show enough gratitude for his sacrifice or for that of your family. Although I never met Jeremy, I know from all that Timothy ever had to say of him that he was a wonderful, brother, son, and person. You raised three fine young men and I hope that you can find some peace in knowing that your son is a hero because he was raised in a God serving and loving home. Please keep in touch it has been too long since I have heard from you and tell Timothy that he always has a friend. My email is sdstribling@hotmail.com

"My name is Kate, and I'm 16 years old. As a way to honor the fallen and support the families they left behind, myself and my family each purchased a bracelet with someone's name, position, and date on it. My bracelet has Jeremy's name on it.
I recieved it today, and for the past hour, I've been looking for his story, so I could tell anyone who wanted to know who the man on my bracelet was, and what became of him.
I've learned that he was a great guy, with a great personality, and he made a great sacrifice. I never met him personally, but he feels like a friend, and I wish I could have known him.

I send my prayers and my love to his family and friends. And I want you to know that someone out there is telling his story to everyone who asks about the name on my bracelet. This way, he will live forever, as long as he is remembered and loved."

"To Pv2 Drexler's family and friends...
I was there with your son that tragic nite, just before we rolled out on the ill fated patroal, i think you all should know that he was the same as always, he was just bein himself, tryin to make the rest of us laugh when all we wanted to do was get off work and go to sleep... i don't know what kind of solace this may offer, but we caught the five cowards responsable for planting the devise that took your son, and one of my best friends away... my prayers are with you...
