"To the family of George R. Draughn, Jr. - In September we visited a ‘Healing Field’ memorial in Colorado. This was actually several fields which displayed many American flags, each carrying the name of either a fallen soldier in the war against terror or a victim of September 11th. It was a very moving and somber site. The flags were later sold with the money to be used to construct a memorial in honor of these heroes. We purchased a flag, and the one that we received had the name of George R. Draughn, Jr. We went to the Internet to find more information on him and came across this site. We want you to know that your family’s sacrifice means very much to us. We will honor George by flying this flag carrying his name throughout the years. You must be very proud of your son, and although we didn’t know him personally, we are proud to honor him. God Bless your family and God Bless America."
