"My husband served in Iraq with Davis. They were actually very close. He often spoke of Davis durring the rare and precious phone calls back then. I just want his family to know that Davis is not forgotten. Nick still tells stories of him and I, as a wife and mother think of his wife and sons often. Thank you for your service. God bless your family."
Natasha of El Paso, TX

"I don't know how often you catch up on these... But on the 10th anniversary of the invasion I pulled out many photos of me and Zach together. I was smiling, then I was sad... I think about him still all of the time and pray that his family is doing well. Semper Fi!

"Zach I wish you were still here with us. I wish that you could have meet my son. We miss you So much. Love always your sister Sarah."

"To Angela, I'm sure you won't remember me. I was stationed with Zach in Camp Lejeune when you two were married. I actually went to Motor T school with him, and we remained friends afterward. You and I met in NC after you were married, I believe you guys were living in base housing at the time. I vaguely remember Zach and I grilling burgers and all of us hanging out at the house. I want to say it was in the summer, maybe 4th of July. I can not express the heartbreak I felt many years back when I read that he was killed. He was a true friend and Marine. I remember his demeanor on an everyday basis, always professional. We would always talk about his indoc for Recon and how frustrating it was that he had to wait and re-enlist before he could lat move. A hard charger to the core, know that he is missed, by many more than his immediate family. But, by all of those that he touched during his years on this earth. I send you and the boys my love and prayers on a daily basis. God bless."

"TO the family of sgt Davis. Its been almost 10 yrs since i first met "Cpl Davis" when I was assigned to 3rd LAR. Even though I was a boot POG with H&S Co he was still nice to me and was one of the first NCO's I met who didn't have an a bad attitude towards the new guys. He treated everyone with dignity and respect, and that is how you can truly measure a mans character. I also remember when he was promoted to Sgt. I remember thinking that he was someone who truly deserved it and that the guys in his platoon where lucky to have him. I guess I just wanted to let you know that even though I wasn't close with Sgt Davis he still made an impact on me. I have an Iraqi flag framed and hanging on my wall that I had guys sign while we where in Iraq in 03. Right square in the center of the flag is where Sgt Davis signed my flag. Whenever I look at that flag I see his name and remember him and the sacrafice that he made. I wish his boys could have had the opportunity to know what a great man he was. I hope you know that he is not forgotten."

"I never want to forget the sacrifices of so many young men and women. I am so proud it makes me cry. I understand in theory only that war is a part of human nature but so is love and caring. I wish I could take the families pain away but I can't. I am committed to loving ALL people, myself and our environment. I am committed to working on my happiness everyday because so many have died for my freedom to live my life. Thank you is not enough but it is all I have. All my love and respect. ogersteiner@yahoo.com
