"To the family of PFC Cardelli, I am very sorry to hear about your loss. Sean was a good guy and an incredible Marine. I was in his platoon in boot camp, 2089 Fox Co. It was a shock to all of us to hear he was gone. I do not know if you ever heard but your son Sean earned us our first and only phone call home while in boot camp by knocking another recruit out in the pugil stick match. Our entire platoon walked a little taller that day because of him. I leave for Iraq myself in 5 days and the memory of Sean will be with me. I'm fighting because he did; I only hope I can do half as fine a job as he did. My prayers go out to you and your family. Semper Fi."

"To the Family of PFC Sean Cardelli:
We have constructed a memorial to the service men and women from Wisconsin and Illinois who have died in Iraq. Our memorial includes, as of 8/28/06, 162 crosses and Stars of David. We would like your permission to put Sean's name on one of them. We have called our display "Arlington MidWest." It is our expression of mourning for the indescribable loss you have suffered for our country.

If you would like us to do this, please email me at arlingtonmidwest@yahoo.com.

We invite you to come to visit Arlington MidWest if you can. A friend has put us up on his website so you can see the memorial here:
