"LCPL Beisel,
I just ran the Two Rivers Marathon in your home town today. I saw your photo and memorial at Two Rivers Junction. Being a former Marine myself, I asked the lady inside about you. She had such great things to say about you and your family. I walked outside, took a right face, locked it up, saluted you, bowed my head and sent you a prayer. I hope you got it. Tomorrow will be seven years you've been gone, but your still living in Lackawaxen. Semper Fi, my brother."
Matthew Clark of Sparta, NJ

"Beisel, you were truly a great Marine. I remember seeing you in the chow hall right before you left for Anbar and the glow in your eyes was amazing. You were truly excited and couldnt wait to help lead Marines into combat. You are missed my man. Thanks for keeping my head straight through boot camp and the great stories when we got to the fleet. I'm still going strong in this gun club, hope to see you again."

"I was looking for a memorial bracelet to wear to honor a hero who died protecting our freedom. I chose Jacob because he died on my birthday. I am thankful for his duty and honor. After finding out more about him I am so very glad I chose him. People will ask about my bracelet and I will share his story. Jacob's bravery will be remembered by more people each and every day. I am thankful for my freedom and for LCPL Jacob W. Beisel, USMC. July 27, 2011"

"I had the pleasure of meeting your parents over the weekend. I was on my way home from Masthope, Lackawaxen to New York. I was with my two small children and your parents gave them each a poppy.
I want to thank you for your service to our country. Your parents seemed very proud of you. I am sorry that you had to give your life for our freedom, but I do thank you. I know that you are truly missed and your memory will be eternal."

I don't know what exactly to say other than Jacob is a true hero. So young, yet had done so much. He is resting now knowing that he has done this country proud as well as his fellow Marines. For his bravery in serving the in most elite fighting force, he will surely not be forgotten.

"“We will never forget”

We will never forget
We will never be the same
Proudly we stand
When we hear Jacob’s name

Bravely he fought
With honor he served
He died for our freedoms
Without hesitation or reserve

Our hearts ache for his touch
We often ask why
We pray for his soul
And try not to cry

Jacob is our hero
The best of us all
He stepped up for his Country
To answer the call

Forever in our hearts
We often give him praise
Dear Lord we miss him
On the good and bad days

We will never forget
The sacrifice he made
In God we trust
The ultimate price, he too paid

"In remebrance of what Memorial Day really honors, a local teacher assigned each member of 2 school clubs a young soldier, who has fallen in the last year, to remember. I recieved Jacob W. Beisel. As I can't even begin to imagine the pain and suffering the Beisel family has felt in losing a loved one, I know they are proud. Their son was an American hero.

In honor of Lance Cpl. Jacob W. Beisel.

Our hearts are with you. <3"

"My sincerest condolences on your loss.

For Memorial Day, I wanted to honor the memory of a local soldier killed in battle, and a Pocono Record reporter gave me Jacob's name. It is with profound respect and homage that Jacob's name and story will be a part of my memorial."

"Letter to Mom
by Joy Curnutt
Mom, please don’t feel guilty
It was just my time to go.
I see you are still feeling sad,
And the tears just seem to flow.
We all come to earth for our lifetime,
And for some it’s not many years
I don’t want you to keep crying
You are shedding so many tears.
I haven’t really left you
Even though it may seem so.
I have just gone to my heavenly home,
And I’m closer to you than you know.
Just believe that when you say my name
I’m standing next to you,
I know you long to see me,
But there’s nothing I can do.
But I’ll still send you messages
And hope you understand,
That when your time comes to “cross over,”
I’ll be there to take your hand.
