It gets easier with time but my heart will always be missing you. For ever in my ♥. The most beautiful things are not seen they are felt with the heart. See you"

"I never want to forget the sacrifices of so many young men and women. I am so proud it makes me cry. I understand in theory only that war is a part of human nature but so is love and caring. I wish I could take the families pain away but I can't. I am committed to loving ALL people, myself and our environment. I am committed to working on my happiness everyday because so many have died for my freedom to live my life. Thank you is not enough but it is all I have. All my love and respect. ogersteiner@yahoo.com

It's hard to fathom it's been three years already and I still think about you almost every day. We lost quite a few brothers, but yours stung me the most. You were just so full of life, and when you got hit it really hit the company hard. I pray for you and your family. Branch, Almond, and I all got out, but we're doing well and we still talk about the 'attachments' having to stick together, you blowing stuff up, and you filming everything to send back to your wife. God bless you and your family."

"To my husband Nicanor Alvarez, Its hard to watch the days go by and think back to when i last saw u, I can never forget my last words to you the day u left this earth. I remember it like it was yesterday our conversation the same day you died and had a gut feeling something was different in your voice, as if you knew it would be your last phone call to me. HOney, although its been a year since you passed, I still keep in my heart that you will never be replaced. Everything about you I miss, and long to hear your voice once again, but not just in my dreams while I sleep but in heaven where your smiling down on me."

"My heart aches for the family of the brave, young, Nicanor Alvarez. I am just learning of your loss and am deeply saddened. I wrote to Nicanor twice and sent a care package to him while he was in service. I received the most eloquent letter from him and hold it dear, amongst my most cherished things. I believe that the letter spoke volumes about his sense of self, family, and courage. I hope that your family is healing and rejoicing in the memory of his brief life. Please know that through one letter, he touched my life.I will remember his name and all that he gave -always. My prayers and heartfelt thanks -sincerely."

"To my dearest loving husband Nick, I will always remember you no matter the days that pass. You have impacted my life greatly and I miss you. Life has not really been the same since we parted. I can still remeber holding you in my arms while we talked about the future and how you were so eiger to have children. It seems like everyday something always reminds me of you. Sometimes I still can't believe that I can't see you, and your gone, but I long to see you once again (more then in my dreams),and we can continue where our young lives left off.
You took a part of me with you when you left (my heart),and like a theif, You stole it, and without you, my life, my being is incomplete.

One day we will meet again, and when that day comes the smile you took will return to my face, and I won't let you go again ever agian."
Sandra Alvarez of San Bernardino, Ca
