"To the entire Sherkenbach family: Chris and I were very good friends all through grade school(Lions Park) and jr high. We kind of lost touch when he went to Prospect and I ended up going to Forest View. I was shocked when I heard that Chris had passed away.

May god watch over your family and give you peace in what I am sure are troubling days ahead. Chris is and always will be a true american hero in every sense of the word. Wish I was half the man he was.
