Adamkavicius died of injuries sustained in Abu Ghurayb, Afghanistan, when he came under enemy small arms fire during combat operations. He was assigned to the Army National Guard's 149th Brigade, 35th Infantry Division, Louisville, Kentucky. Died on April 21, 2006.
Sgt. Kevin D. Akins, 29, of Burnsville, North Carolina.
Akins died west of Asadabad, Afghanistan, when an improvised explosive device detonated near his HMMWV during combat operations. He was assigned to the Army Reserve's 391st Engineer Battalion, Asheville, North Carolina. Died on March 12, 2006.
Sgt. Maj. Phillip R. Albert, 41, of Terryville, Connecticut.
Albert was onboard an MH-53 helicopter conducting combat operations when it crashed in Afghanistan. He was assigned to 2nd Battalion, 87th Infantry Regiment, 10th Mountain Division, Fort Drum, New York. Died on November 23, 2003.
Staff Sgt. Leroy E. Alexander, 27, of Dale City, Virginia.
Alexander was killed at Forward Operating Base Orgun-E in Afghanistan when his convoy vehicle was struck by an improvised expolsive device. He was assigned to the 1st Battalion, 7th Special Forces Group, Fort Bragg, North Carolina. Died on June 3, 2005.
Spc. Thomas F. Allison, 22, of Roy, Washington.
Allison was on board the MH-47 aircraft that crashed at sea in the southern Philippines. He was assigned to the 160th Special Operations Aviation Regiment, Fort Campbell, Kentucky. Died on February 21, 2002.
Cpl. William M. Amundson, Jr., 21, of The Woodlands, Texas.
Amundson died in Afghanistan when the vehicle in which he was riding rolled over. He was assigned to the 3rd Battalion, 75th Ranger Regiment, Fort Benning, Georgia. Died on October 19, 2004.
Spc. Marc A. Anderson, 30, of Brandon, Florida.
Killed in action in eastern Afghanistan during Operation Anaconda. Died on March 4, 2002.
Spc. Lisa M. Andrews, 24, of Lenexa, Kansas.
Andrews was on leave from her unit when she was struck and killed by a civilian vehicle as she was walking across U.S. Highway 69 near Overland Park, Kansas. She was assigned to the 129th Transportation Company, U.S. Army Reserve, New Century, Kansas. Died on September 26, 2003.
Sgt. 1st Class Moses E. Armstead, 44, of Rochester, New York.
Armstead died at Landstuhl Regional Medical Center in Landstuhl, Germany, of a non-combat related illness identified on October 5, 2005 as he was returning from leave status and preparing to redeploy to Afghanistan. He was assigned to the 16th Ordnance Battalion, Aberdeen Proving Ground, Maryland. Died on October 6, 2005.
CWO David Ayala, 24, of New York, New York.
Ayala died in Ghazni, Afghanistan, when the CH-47 helicopter he was on crashed. He was assigned to the 5th Battalion, 159th Aviation Regiment, 12th Aviation Brigade, Giebelstadt, Germany. Died on April 6, 2005.
Sgt. Maj. Barbaralien Banks, 41, of Harvey, Louisiana.
Banks died in Ghazni, Afghanistan, when the CH-47 helicopter she was on crashed. She was assigned to the Division Artillery, 25th Infantry Division (Light), Schofield Barracks, Hawaii. Died on April 6, 2005.
Sgt. Michael C. Barry, 29, of Overland Park, Kansas.
Barry died as a result of injuries sustained while a passenger in a vehicle that was struck by another vehicle in Doha, Qatar. Barry was assigned to the 205th Medical Battalion, Missouri Army National Guard, Kansas City, Missouri. Died on February 1, 2003.
Sgt. Tane T. Baum, 30, of Pendleton, Oregon.
Baum died southwest of Deh Chopan, Afghanistan, when his CH-47 Chinook helicopter crashed. He was assigned to the Army National Guard's 113th Aviation Regiment, Pendleton, Oregon. Died on September 25, 2005.
Sgt. Bobby E. Beasley, 36, of Inwood, West Virginia.
Beasley died in Ghazikel, Afghanistan, when his vehicle struck an improvised explosive device. He was assigned to the Army National Guard's 3rd Battalion, 116th Infantry Regiment, 1st Brigade, 29th Infantry Division (Light Infantry), Winchester, Virginia. Died on August 7, 2004.
Pvt. Joseph R. Blake, 34, of Portland, Oregon.
Blake died in Turkalay, Afghanistan, of injuries suffered when his platoon encountered enemy forces small arms fire. Blake was assigned to the 1st Battalion, 32nd Infantry Regiment, 3rd Brigade Combat Team, 10th Mountain Division, Fort Drum, New York. Died on August 17, 2006.
Sgt. Jay A. Blessing, 23, of Tacoma, Washington.
Blessing died of injuries sustained from an improvised explosive device in Asadabad, Afghanistan. He was assigned to Headquarters and Headquarters Company, 2nd Battalion, 75th Ranger Regiment, Fort Lewis, Washington. Died on November 14, 2003.
Pfc. Brian J. Bradbury, 22, of Saint Joseph, Missouri.
Bradbury died in the vicinity of Naray, Afghanistan, when he encountered enemy forces using small arms fire and rocket-propelled grenades during combat operations. He was assigned to the 71st Cavalry Regiment, 3rd Brigade Combat Team, 10th Mountain Division (Light Infantry), Fort Drum, New York. Died on June 21, 2006.
Sgt. Bryan A. Brewster, 24, of Fontana, California.
Brewster died east of Abad, Afghanistan, in the Kunar province, when his CH-47 Chinook helicopter crashed during combat operations. He was assigned to the 3rd Battalion, 10th Aviation Regiment, 10th Mountain Division (Light Infantry), Fort Drum, New York. Died on May 5, 2006.
Staff Sgt. Eric Caban, 28, of Fort Worth, Texas.
Caban died in southern Afghanistan of injuries sustained when his combat reconnaissance patrol came in contact with enemy forces using small arms fire during combat operations on July 18. Caban was assigned to the 3rd Battalion, 7th Special Forces Group (Airborne), Fort Bragg, North Carolina. Died on July 19, 2006.
Staff Sgt. Damion G. Campbell, 23, of Baltimore, Maryland.
Campbell died in Khayr Kot, Afghanistan, when an improvised explosive device detonated near his HMMWV during a combat patrol. He was assigned to the 1st Battalion, 508th Infantry Regiment, Vicenza, Italy. Died on August 26, 2005.
Spc. Curtiss A. Carter, 25, of Lafayette, Indiana.
Died in Kuwait. Died on February 27, 2002.
Sgt. 1st Class Victor H. Cervantes, 27, of Stockton, California.
Cervantes died in Orgun-e, Afghanistan, when he came under small arms fire while on patrol. He was assigned to the 1st Battalion, 7th Special Forces Group (Airborne), Fort Bragg, North Carolina. Died on June 10, 2005.
Capt. Jeremy A. Chandler, 30, of Clarksville, Tennessee.
Chandler died in Tarin Kowt, Afghanistan, while he was conducting training operations at Forward Operating Base Ripley. The incident is under investigation. He was assigned to the 1st Battalion, 3rd Special Forces Group, Fort Bragg, North Carolina. Died on August 11, 2005.
Sgt. 1st Class Nathan R. Chapman, 31, of San Antonio, Texas.
Died in Afghanistan. Died on January 4, 2002.
Sgt. Steven Checo, 22, of New York City, New York.
Checo was killed in action when his unit came under attack from hostile forces. Checo was a member of the 504th Infantry, Fort Bragg, North Carolina. Died on December 20, 2002.
Staff Sgt. Craig W. Cherry, 39, of Winchester, Virginia.
Cherry died in Ghazikel, Afghanistan, when his vehicle struck an improvised explosive device. He was assigned to the Army National Guard's 3rd Battalion, 116th Infantry Regiment, 1st Brigade, 29th Infantry Division (Light Infantry), Winchester, Virginia. Died on August 7, 2004.
Staff Sgt. Robert J. Chiomento, 34, of Fort Dix, New Jersey.
Chiomento died in Khwaya Ahmad, Afghanistan, when his patrol encountered enemy forces using rocket-propelled grenades and mortars. Chiomento was assigned to the 2nd Battalion, 4th Infantry Regiment, 4th Brigade Combat Team, 10th Mountain Division, Fort Polk, Louisiana. Died on July 17, 2006.
Master Sgt. Herbert R. Claunch, 58, of Wetumpka, Alabama.
Claunch died in Guantanamo Bay, Cuba, after collapsing on the floor in his quarters. He was assigned to the Army National Guard, 217th Military Police Company, Prattville, Alabama. Died on April 18, 2004.
Spc. Brian M. Clemens, 19, of Kokomo, Indiana.
Clemens died as a result of a High Mobility Multipurpose Wheeled Vehicle rollover. He was assigned to C Company, 1-293rd Infantry, Fort Wayne, Indiana. Died on February 6, 2003.
Staff Sgt. Shawn M. Clemens, 28, of Allegany, New York.
Clemens died west of Ghazni, Afghanistan, when a weapons cache prematurely exploded. He was assigned to 2nd Battalion, 87th Infantry Regiment, 10th Mountain Division, Fort Drum, New York. Died on January 29, 2004.
Cpl. Jeremiah S. Cole, 26, of Hiawatha, Kansas.
Cole died in Bermel, Afghanistan of injuries sustained when an improvised explosive device detonated near his vehicle during combat operations. Cole was assigned to the 2nd Battalion, 87th Infantry Regiment, 1st Brigade Combat Team, 10th Mountain Division, Fort Drum, New York. Died on August 16, 2006.
Spc. Anthony S. Cometa, 21, of Las Vegas, Nevada.
Cometa died in Safwan, Kuwait, when his HMMWV rolled over. He was assigned to the Army National Guard's 1864th Transportation Company, 106th Transportation Battalion, Henderson, Nevada. Died on June 16, 2005.
Pfc. Matthew A. Commons, 21, of Boulder City, Nevada.
Killed in action in eastern Afghanistan during Operation Anaconda. Died on March 4, 2002.
Capt. David S. Connolly, 37, of Boston, Massachusetts.
Connolly died in Ghazni, Afghanistan, when the CH-47 helicopter he was on crashed. He was assigned to the Army Reserve’s 1173rd Transportation Terminal Battalion, Brockton, Massachusetts. Died on April 6, 2005.
Spc. Robert J. Cook, 24, of Sun Prairie, Wisconsin.
Cook died west of Ghazni, Afghanistan, when a weapons cache prematurely exploded. He was assigned to 2nd Battalion, 87th Infantry Regiment, 10th Mountain Division, Fort Drum, New York. Died on January 29, 2004.
Cpl. Bernard P. Corpuz, 28, of Watsonville, ornia.
Corpuz died in Ghanzi, Afghanistan, from wounds sustained when his convoy came under enemy small arms fire and an improvised explosive device detonated during combat operations. He was assigned to the 303rd Military Intelligence Battalion, 504th Military Intelligence Brigade, Fort Hood, Texas. Died on June 11, 2006.
Staff Sgt. Brian T. Craig, 27, of Texas.
Craig died as the result of an explosion during explosive clearing operations in Qandahar, Afghanistan. He was assigned to 710th Explosive Ordnance Detachment, San Diego, California. Died on April 15, 2002.
Staff Sgt. Heathe N. Craig, 28, of Severn, Maryland.
Craig died when his UH-60 helicopter hoist malfunctioned while attempting to evacuate Pfc. Bradbury during combat operations. He was assigned to the 159th Air Ambulance Medical Company, Wiesbaden, Germany. Died on June 21, 2006.
Spc. Richard M. Crane, 25, of Independence, Missouri.
Crane died in Kandahar, Afghanistan, of non-combat related injuries. He was assigned to the Army Reserve’s 325th Field Hospital, Independence, Missouri. Died on February 8, 2005.
Sgt. Bradley S. Crose, 22, of Orange Park, Florida.
Killed in action in eastern Afghanistan during Operation Anaconda. He was assigned to the 1st Battalion, 75th Ranger Regiment, Hunter Army Airfield, Georgia. Died on March 4, 2002.
Pfc. Joseph Cruz, 22, of Whittier, California.
Cruz died in Bagram, Afghanistan of non-combat related injuries sustained in an accident at Organ-E, Afghanistan, on October 15, 2005. He was assigned to the 1st Battalion, 508th Infantry Regiment, Vicenza, Italy. Died on October 16, 2005.
Capt. Patrick D. Damon, 41, of Falmouth, Maine.
Damon died in Bagram, Afghanistan, from a non-combat related cause. He was assigned to the Army National Guard's 240th Engineer Group, Augusta, Maine. Died on June 15, 2006.
Master Sgt. Jefferson D. Davis, 39, of Clarksville, Tennessee.
Died in Afghanistan. Died on December 5, 2001.
Pfc. Justin R. Davis, 19, of Gaithersburg, Maryland.
Davis died in Korengal Outpost, Afghanistan (near Kunar Province), when he came in contact with indirect fire while on patrol during combat operations. Davis was assigned to the 1st Battalion, 32nd Infantry Regiment, 3rd Brigade Combat Team, 10th Mountain Division (Light Infantry), Fort Drum, New York. Died on June 25, 2006.
Sgt. Robert G. Davis, 23, of Jackson, Missouri.
Davis died in Kandahar, Afghanistan, when an improvised explosive device detonated underneath his HMMWV during ground assault convoy operations. He was assigned to the 864th Engineer Combat Battalion (Heavy), 555th Maneuver Enhancement Brigade (Provisional), Fort Lewis, Washingtron. Died on August 18, 2005.
Staff Sgt. Edwin H. Dazachacon, 38, of Belleville, Illinois.
Dazachacon died north of Deh Rawod, Afghanistan, when an improvised explosive device detonated near his HMMWV during combat operations. He was assigned to the 3rd Battalion, 7th Special Forces Group, Fort Bragg, North Carolina. Died on February 13, 2006.
Spc. Robert W. Defazio, 21, of West Babylon, New York.
Defazio died in Kandahar, Afghanistan, of non-combat related injuries. He was assigned to the 23rd Ordnance Company, Miesau, Germany. Died on April 24, 2005.
Pvt. Jerod R. Dennis, 19, of Oklahoma.
Dennis died of wounds sustained during a firefight with enemy forces in the vicinity of Ne Shkin, Afghanistan. Dennis was assigned to the 3rd Battalion, 504th Parachute Infantry Regiment, Fort Bragg, North Carolina. Died on April 25, 2003.
Spc. Isaac E. Diaz, 26, of Rio Hondo, Texas.
Diaz died in Sharona, Afghanistan, when his military vehicle rolled over. He was assigned to 2nd Battalion, 27th Infantry Regiment, 25th Infantry Division (Light), Schofield Barracks, Hawaii. Died on December 1, 2004.
Spc. Jason A. Disney, 21, of Fallon, Nevada.
Disney died shortly after sustaining injuries when a piece of heavy equipment fell on him at Bagram Air Base, Afghanistan. He was assigned to the 7th Transportation Battalion, Fort Bragg, North Carolina. Died on February 13, 2002.
Staff Sgt. John G. Doles, 29, of Claremore, Oklahoma.
Doles died in Shah Wali, Afghanistan, during patrol operations when his unit was attacked by enemy forces using rocket-propelled grenades and small arms fire. He was assigned to the 1st Battalion, 508th Infantry Regiment, Vicenza, Italy. Died on September 30, 2005.
CW2 Christopher B. Donaldson, 28, of Illinois.
Donaldson died east of Abad, Afghanistan, in the Kunar province, when his CH-47 Chinook helicopter crashed during combat operations. He was assigned to the 3rd Battalion, 10th Aviation Regiment, 10th Mountain Division (Light Infantry), Fort Drum, New York. Died on May 5, 2006.
Staff Sgt. James P. Dorrity, 37, of Goldsboro, North Carolina.
Dorrity was on board the MH-47 aircraft that crashed at sea in the southern Philippines. He was assigned to the 160th Special Operations Aviation Regiment, Fort Campbell, Kentucky. Died on February 21, 2002.
Cpl. Robert E. Drawl, Jr., 21, of Alexandria, Virginia.
Drawl died in Kunar, Afghanistan, when an improvised explosive device detonated near his convoy vehicle. Drawl was assigned to the 1st Battalion, 32nd Infantry Regiment, 3rd Brigade Combat Team, 10th Mountain Division, Fort Drum, New York. Died on August 19, 2006.
Sgt. Russell M. Durgin, 23, of Henniker, New Hampshire.
Durgin died in Korengel, Afghanistan, when his unit took small arms fire. He was assigned to the 1st Battalion, 32nd Infantry Regiment, 10th Mountain Division, Fort Drum, New York. Died on June 13, 2006.
Pvt. James H. Ebbers, 19, of Bridgeview, Illinois.
Died in Djibuoti, Africa. Died on October 14, 2002.
Pfc. Kevin F. Edgin, 31, of Dyersburg, Tennessee.
Edgin died in Baghran Valley, Afghanistan, when his convoy encountered enemy small arms fire. Edgin was assigned to the Army's 87th Infantry Regiment, 3rd Brigade Combat Team, 10th Mountain Division, Fort Drum, New York. Died on July 6, 2006.
Ranger Spc. Jonn J. Edmunds, 20, of Cheyenne, Wyoming.
Edmunds was a passenger in a Blackhawk helicopter that crashed in Pakistan. Died on October 19, 2001.
Capt. Daniel W. Eggers, 28, of Cape Coral, Florida.
Eggers died in Kandahar, Afghanistan, when his vehicle hit a land mine. He was assigned to 1st Battalion, 3rd Special Forces Group (Airborne), Fort Bragg, North Carolina. Died on May 29, 2004.
CW2 Jody L. Egnor, 32, of Middletown, Ohio.
Egnor was on board the MH-47 aircraft that crashed at sea in the southern Philippines. He was assigned to the 160th Special Operations Aviation Regiment, Fort Campbell, Kentucky. Died on February 21, 2002.
Master Sgt. Emigdio E. Elizarraras, 37, of Pico Rivera, California.
Elizarraras died in Tarin Kowt, Afghanistan, when an improvised explosive device detonated near his HMMWV during a reconnaissance mission. He was assigned to the 3rd Battalion, 7th Special Forces Group, Fort Bragg, North Carolina. Died on February 28, 2006.
Sgt. Michael J. Esposito, Jr., 22, of Brentwood, New York.
Esposito died in Dehrawood, Afghanistan, when his team came under small arms fire while clearing a village. He was assigned to the 2nd Battalion, 22nd Infantry Regiment, 10th Mountain Division (Light Infantry), Fort Drum, New York. Died on March 18, 2004.
1st Lt. Forrest P. Ewens, 25, of Washington.
Ewens died in Pech River Valley, Afghanistan, when his all terrain vehicle struck an improvised explosive device during combat operations. He was assigned to the 1st Battalion, 32nd Infantry Regiment, 3rd Brigade Combat Team, 10th Mountain Division (Light Infantry), Fort Drum, New York. Died on June 16, 2006.
Staff Sgt. Troy S. Ezernack, 39, of Lancaster, Pennsylvania.
Ezernack died in Qalat, Afghanistan, of injuries sustained earlier that day when his combat patrol was attacked by enemy forces using a grenade. He was assigned to the 2nd Battalion, 503rd Infantry Regiment, 173rd Airborne Brigade, Vicenza, Italy. Died on October 9, 2005.
Staff Sgt. Christopher M. Falkel, 22, of Highlands Ranch, Colorado.
Falkel died in Deh Afghan, Afghanistan, where his unit was conducting combat operations and was engaged by enemy forces using small arms fire. He was assigned to 1st Battalion, 3rd Special Forces Group, Fort Bragg, North Carolina. Died on August 8, 2005.
Maj. Curtis D. Feistner, 34, of White Bear Lake, Minnesota.
Feistner was on board the MH-47 aircraft that crashed at sea in the southern Philippines. He was assigned to the 160th Special Operations Aviation Regiment, Fort Campbell, Kentucky. Died on February 21, 2002.
Spc. Kelvin E. Feliciano-Gutierrez, 21, of Anasco, Puerto Rico.
Feliciano-Gutierrez was a .50 caliber gunner on a vehicle that was returning from patrol when it veered off the road and turned over in Orgun-E, Afghanistan. Feliciano-Gutierrez suffered fatal injuries while trapped under the vehicle. Feliciano-Gutierrez was assigned to Headquarters Company, 3rd Battalion, 504th Parachute Infantry Regiment, Fort Bragg, North Carolina. Died on June 28, 2003.
Lt. Col. Joseph J. Fenty, 41, of Florida.
Fenty died east of Abad, Afghanistan, in the Kunar province, when his CH-47 Chinook helicopter crashed during combat operations. He was assigned to the 71st Cavalry Regiment, 10th Mountain Division (Light Infantry), Fort Drum, New York. Died on May 5, 2006.
Spc. Kyle Ka Eo Fernandez, 26, of Waipahu, Hawaii.
Fernandez died in Miam Do, Afghanistan when an improvised explosive device detonated near his dismounted patrol. He was assigned to 2nd Battalion, 5th Infantry, 25th Infantry Division (Light), Schofield Barracks, Hawaii. Died on October 14, 2004.
Capt. Michael T. Fiscus, 36, of Milford, Indiana.
Fiscus died in Kabul, Afghanistan, when a mine detonated near his military vehicle. He was assigned to the Army National Guard’s 76th Infantry Brigade (Separate), Indianapolis, Indiana. Died on March 26, 2005.
CW3 William T. Flanigan, 37, of Milan, Tennessee.
Flanigan died in Kandahar, Afghanistan, when his helicopter crashed during combat operations. Flanigan was assigned to the Army National Guard's 4th Squadron, 278th Armored Cavalry Regiment, Jackson, Tennessee. Died on July 2, 2006.
Cpl. Jacob R. Fleischer, 25, of St. Louis, Missouri.
Fleischer died on in Deh Rawod, Afghanistan, when an improvised explosive device detonated near his unit. He was assigned to 2nd Battalion, 5th Infantry Regiment, 25th Infantry Division (Light), Schofield Barracks, Hawaii. Died on November 24, 2004.
CWO John M. Flynn, 36, of Sparks, Nevada.
Flynn died southwest of Deh Chopan, Afghanistan, when his CH-47 Chinook helicopter crashed. He was assigned to the Army National Guard's 113th Aviation Regiment, Stead, Nevada. Died on September 25, 2005.
Sgt. Ryan D. Foraker, 31, of Logan, Ohio.
Foraker was reported missing from his unit in Guantanamo, Cuba, on September 24, 2002. Exhaustive ground, sea, and air searches were conducted in an effort to locate him but were unsuccessful. Foraker's clothes and personal effects were found near the water's edge, leading the investigating officer, absent any evidence to the contrary, to determine that Foraker had died in the waters of Guantanamo Bay. An extensive criminal investigation uncovered no reason to suspect foul play. Foraker was assigned to the 342nd Military Police Company, U.S. Army Reserve, Columbus, Ohio. Declared deceased on November 1, 2002.

Foshee was on board the MH-47 aircraft that crashed at sea in the southern Philippines. He was assigned to the 160th Special Operations Aviation Regiment, Fort Campbell, Kentucky. Died on February 21, 2002.
Cpl. Dale E. Fracker, Jr., 23, of Apple Valley, California.
Fracker died on in Deh Rawod, Afghanistan, when an improvised explosive device detonated near his unit. He was assigned to 2nd Battalion, 5th Infantry Regiment, 25th Infantry Division (Light), Schofield Barracks, Hawaii. Died on November 24, 2004.
Cpl. David M. Fraise, 24, of New Orleans, Louisiana.
Fraise died in Kandahar, Afghanistan, when an improvised explosive device hit his patrol. He was assigned to Company A, 2nd Battalion, 35th Infantry Regiment, Schofield Barracks, Hawaii. Died on June 7, 2004.

Died in Afghanistan. Died on January 30, 2003.
Pfc. Benny S. Franklin, 19, of Hammond, Louisiana.

McColley died when two CH-53 helicopters crashed into the Gulf of Aden in the vicinity of Ras Siyyan, northern Djibouti, while flying a training mission in the Godoria Range area. He was deployed to Djibouti as part of the Combined Joint Task Force-Horn of Africa. He was assigned to Marine Heavy Helicopter Squadron 464, Marine Air Group 29, 2nd Marine Aircraft Wing, II Marine Expeditionary Force, New River, North Carolina. Died on February 17, 2006.

McCollum died as a result of the crash of a KC-130/R aircraft in Pakistan. He was assigned to Marine Aerial Refueler Transport Squadron 352 (VMGR-352), the "Raiders," Combined Task Force 58, Marine Corps Air Station, Miramar, California. Died on January 9, 2002.
Staff Sgt. Dwight J. Morgan, 24, of Mendocino, California.
Morgan died when a Marine CH-53E crashed in a remote region 60 kilometers south of Bagram in Northern Afghanistan. He was assigned to Marine Heavy Helicopter Squadron 361 (HMH-361), the "Flying Tigers" of Marine Aircraft Group 16, Combined Task Force 58, 3rd Marine Aircraft Wing, Marine Corps Air Station, Miramar, California. Died on January 19, 2002.
Lance Cpl. Ryan J. Nass, 21, of Franklin, Wisconsin.
Nass died from a non-hostile gunshot wound at Camp Blessing, Afghanistan. He was assigned to 2nd Battalion, 3rd Marine Regiment, 3rd Marine Division, III Marine Expeditionary Force, Kaneohe Bay, Hawaii. Died on September 3, 2005.
Cpl. Ronald R. Payne, Jr., 23, of Lakeland, Florida.
Payne died due to hostile action in the vicinity of Tawara, Afghanistan. He was assigned to 2nd Light Armored Reconnaissance, 2nd Marine Division, II Marine Expeditionary Force, Camp Lejeune, North Carolina. Died on May 8, 2004.
Cpl. Richard P. Schoener, 22, of Hayes, Louisiana.
Schoener died in Alishang, Afghanistan, while conducting combat operations. He was assigned to 3rd Battalion, 3rd Marine Regiment, 3rd Marine Division, III Marine Expeditionary Force, Kaneohe Bay, Hawaii. Died on May 8, 2005.
Lance Cpl. Antonio J. Sledd, 20, of Hillsborough, Florida.
Sledd died in Kuwait from wounds received in action while participating in an urban exercise as part of Exercise Eager Mace. He was assigned to Lima Company, 3rd Battalion, 1st Marines, 11th Marine Expeditionary Unit, Camp Pendleton, California. Died on October 8, 2002.

Valdez died from enemy mortar fire at Camp Blessing, Afghanistan. He was assigned to 2nd Battalion, 3rd Marine Regiment, 3rd Marine Division, III Marine Expeditionary Force, Kaneohe Bay, Hawaii. Died on September 26, 2005.
