"May God bless & keep your family Natalie. Daniel was so lucky to have a "Mum" like you, to support him even when your knees were weak, and your heart weary with praying. Thank you Natalie for continuing to support "our boys", as one of my Marines is going back again. I know how much it means to my boys to hear the voices of moms like you who let them know that even when you've lost your precious son, that you will continue to "watch their backs" back here at home... honoring the dedication of your son to the mission of Freedom.
Thank you."

"As a mom of five young children, I am so grateful for the sacrifice of this brave solder Daniel R. Healy. You are loved by many. Words can not express the emotion. He payed the ultimate price for our freedom and the freedom of so many other people who suffered under the rule of Sadaam. May God be with his family in this time of sorrow and may you find comfort in the fact that we think about Daniel's sacrifice for the love of his country. May we NEVER forget! Thank you!"

"It wasn't until this evening that I became aware of this wonderful sight. The Exeter Baptist Church gave a dinner to honor Dan and we saw messages that were from this site and I thought I would investigate.
How wonderful. Thank you all for your wonderful words and prayers. Its a great comfort to the Healy family.
Danny was a wonderful young man who will be so missed by us but of whom we will forever be proud.
When he broke the news to me that he was going to "Bahrain" I wasn't too happy about it. He noticed my lack of enthusiasm and said, " But Mum, you're supposed to be a Spartan mom." Of course I was concerned since he would be going into harms way. Later, each E mail to Dan I would ask God to bless him and then tell him, " Cover yours and kick theirs, Dan." so he knew I had regained my "Spartan Mom" mindset.
I had been proud of Danny all his life- for many quiet, courageous acts he had done- for the kind and determined way he lead his life and I am in awe of him for all he accomplished.
Danny, I'll miss you forever.
Love,
Mum"

"To Daniel's Family from a grateful and
proud American---
The Spirit of the American Soldier
I am a whisper on the wind
Of times past and places long forgotten
Valley Forge, Gettysburg, Batan, Pearl Harbor, Normandy, Seoul, Saigon, Laos, Kuwait, Iraq
I am the heart of countless numbers:
Scarred and maimed American Veteran
And the soul of the buried unknowns
I am the integral part of each white cross in Flanders Field
And I am sealed within each name on the wall
I am a part of each and every headstone of every American Veteran
In every cemetery around the world
I am deeply enmeshed in every tiny undiscovered bone fragment
Of an American veteran left behind, on foreign soil
I am the unseen shadow, the unheard voice
In those many empty cells, that once held my brothers
In unspeakable torture
I am the unbearable pain in the hearts of every
Mother, Father, Wife, Husband, Brother, Sister, Child
Of missing American Veterans from all wars
I am within each and every teardrop
Shed by family members for their unaccounted loved ones
I am the essence of each and every drop of blood
Shed in the past or in the future
By an American Veteran in the name of Freedom
I am the lifeblood of the colors of the American Flag
Blue for my Loyalty and Dedication
White for my Steadfastness
Red for my Pride and Love of my Country
I am the spirit of each name on the black granite wall
Of all those unaccounted for in every war
Of those who went away to war
Gallant young soldiers and came back older than time
Or Not At All.
I AM
The Spirit of the American Soldier
God Bless America

"The Lord tells us that we reap what we sow. Daniel's sacrifice is also the sacrifice your family has made. You are accredited by the Lord with the priceless life that was exchanged for our freedoms. Your husband and father has sown his life for the honor, protection and preservation of our nation. I pray in turn that you will reap a great harvest. Of course Daniel is irreplaceable. But the Lord will not neglect to cover the back of such a valorous hero. I know the Lord gives fruit for what we sow. I pray that He will return a bountiful harvest to you that will sustain your whole family in all the ways a father and husband does. I pray that He will provide you with love, protection, provision, emotional, physical and spiritual comfort. The Lord is an ever present help in times of need. From the bottom of our hearts we thank you, we salute you, we pray for you and we love you."
