"I remember Vic from Fort Hood from 96-99 while in Garry Owen. He was squared away. I always remember him hanging out with Carter and Brown. He used to tell us about his jeep he had back home. He could of been anything in the world, in the end he lived and died being a soldier. For some there is no other way."
Chris Delgado of Chicago

"It`s been a little over a year since you have been gone. Not a day goes by that i havent`t thought of you. We talk about you a lot on the team. I pass on all the stuff you tought me on to the new guys, so in my mind your still with us. We are getting ready for another trip to the desert. It is going to be strange not having you watching my back, but i guess that is how it goes. You will never be forgotten. Until we meet again pal.

"I enlisted on the same day, we arrived at Fort Hood in the same platoon after graduating. I left the Army in 2000, he went on to do great things - When another one of our military buddies told me what happend I looked Cerventas up, I was so impressed with how much he accomplished in such a short time, he has inspired me to drop what I'm doing and live Army for the rest of my life and my goal is to become the best soldier that I can, I will dedicaite my entire life to the military (I go to Iraq next month and when I get back I'm going to try and follow in his foot steps with hope that some day I will become atleast half the man that he was, and still is in heaven -"
Michael Harrington of Augusta, Maine - U.S.A

"I remember victor as a young utility clerk at Pak N Save in Stockton, I am deeply saddened by the loss. It doesn't surprise me that he was able to achieve so much in so little time and that he was also ready to make the sacrifice that he unfortunately was called on to do. From what I remember, was always on the ball, cared about everything he did, smiled lots and went out of his way to help people, while always being humble. Qualities of an outstanding young man, to say the least. My sympathies go out to his family and my thanks as well. I can't imagine the pain you must feel but I deeply honor the ultimate sacrifice your son made, so I and young people like us can continue to live out our lives in freedom."
Oliver Orzal of Oakland, CA, USA

"Victor, I barely remember you, but your name stuck out on a casualty list. We were in 1/7 Cav together. You were just a private then, man you moved up fast. You did all the adventurous things I never had the courage to do. As I said, I barely remember you with more than a head-nod or hello in passing, but I remember you, and you will never be forgotten my friend."
Patrick Helton of Alabama

"To Victor's Family,

I send to you my deepest sympathy for your loss. I hope you won't mind, but, I made a Memorial Page for Victor on my memorial website: aherostribute.org. It's become somtimes overwhelming when I create the memorials and with Victor especially. I was an ROTC mom during my sons high school years and I think Victor reminds me of those cadets. My son Christopher is in the 82nd Airborne at Ft. Bragg. Victor's Memorial is not public on my website. It is private for the family at this time. If you would I would be honored to include it to share with our visitors.
