"Joe. Still on my mind dude. Still think of the day I missed you when you came by to say goodbye before basic. Wish I could've seen you that last time. You would've been so proud of your parents. They handled your passing with a strong hold on the Lord and your memories. People from our run-down little town have ventured out and accomplished pretty cool things Joe. I think about you every time I'm somewhere amazing I never thought I'd be. I guess wishing you had the time to do the same. Thanks for protecting my freedom. Miss you man."

Not a day goes by when I don't think about the good times we had together. Sometimes when I drive up to my parents home through the back roads I remember when we working together racing in the company trucks being chased by the farmer who owned the land we were racing on. Even the memories growing up together. Around this time Ana and me remember its almost your birthday a day before hers. I miss you and love you. till we meet again."

Just doing a job, not really wanting to be there. Who does right? Well I was wrighting in remembrance of him and what all you men and women have done and are still doing in Iraq. A BIG THANK YOU for fighting for us who stay here and support you on the sidelines. I am going to thank each and everyone of these New Mexicans each and every Memorial Day.
Because of you I can still live FREE in New Mexico.
May the roads rise to meet you
May the wind be always at
