"Jeremy is my 2nd Cousin. His Father Kevin has NEVER forgotten the tragic loss of his son. In every conversation you would have with him about his very brave son, he will tell you 'All Jeremy ever wanted to be was a Marine. He died doing what he loved and a part of me died with him.' I will never forget that cold, bitter, snowy night when the family stood on the tarmac as the plane stopped on the runway, to open its doors to allow, for one last time, our Hero to come home to us. There were no words to say, no words to speak, only holding his Father Kevin in our arms as we all came together grieving the terrible loss of such a young member of our family. Since losing Jeremy, the Tamburello family has lost five (5) additional sons, my son being the last. There are no words to express the sorrow we all feel in losing our sons and they will always, always remain in our hearts, our memories, our tears and our prayers. Jeremy's life stood for peace, strength, brotherhood and love. I am proud to be part of a family who birthed such an amazing young, American Hero. My husband is also a Marine as was his Father, his Uncle and his Cousin. He is, like all Marines, very, very proud. We say thank you to all who have served or are serving and most especially, our fallen heroes like Jeremy. May God's great Choirs of Angels walk with you and protect you for the rest of your lives. I, too believe, if we live as God has called us to live, we will see Jeremy, my son, and so many others again. I am closing with this:
When Tomorrow Starts Without Me
attributed to
David M. Romano - 1993
When tomorrow starts without me
And I'm not there to see;
If the sun should rise and find your eyes
All filled with tears for me.
I wish so much you wouldn't cry
The way you did today;
While thinking of the many things
We didn't get to say.
I know how much you love me
As much as I love you;
And each time that you think of me,
I know you'll miss me too.
But when tomorrow starts without me
Please try to understand,
That an angel came and called my name
And took me by the hand.
She said my place was ready
In heaven far above;
And that I'd have to leave behind,
All those I dearly love.
But as I turned to walk away,
A tear fell from my eye;
For all my life, I'd always thought
I didn't want to die.
I had so much to live for,
So much yet to do;
It seemed almost impossible,
That I was leaving you.
I thought of all the yesterdays,
The good ones and the bad;
I thought of all the love we shared,
And all the fun we had.
If I could relive yesterday
Just even for awhile,
I'd say goodbye and kiss you
And maybe see you smile.
But then I fully realized
That this could never be;
For emptiness and memories
Would take the place of me.
And when I thought of worldly things
I might miss come tomorrow;
I thought of you, and when I did,
My heart was filled with sorrow.
But when I walked through heaven's gates
I felt so much at home;
When God looked down and smiled at me
From His great golden throne.
He said, "This is eternity
And all I've promised you;
Today your life on earth is past,
But here it all starts anew."
"I promise no tomorrow,
But today will always last;
And since each day's the same day,
There's no longing for the past."
"But you have been so faithful,
So trusting and so true;
Though at times you did do things,
You knew you shouldn't do."
"But you have been forgiven
And now at last you're free;
So won't you take my hand
And share my life with me?"
So when tomorrow starts without me,
Don't think we're far apart
For every time you think of me,
I'm right here in your heart."

"I served with Jeremy during the 2005 deployment. He was in a regular company and I was on QRF platoon with 1st LAR. It was a rough deployment. We hit a lot of IEDs. Two went off on my vehicle and by the grace of God I survived. Jeremy was not so lucky. As years have went by and America falls apart, I think about the times we all spent over there. I remember getting on the plane when we landed in Kuwait and wondering who wasn't going to make it home. I looked around at all the faces of the Marines cuz I knew that we were not all coming back. I really hoped that I would do great things in life to honor his memory but I've always felt like I fell short. We were young kids. To the family of Jeremy, just know that we fought hard and we serve this country well. We stepped up during a time when a lot of people didn't. Unfortunately, Jeremy had to pay the ultimate price. There's not a day that goes by that I don't think about the Marines from 1st LAR that didn't come home. I often wonder why did I get to come home and some of those guys didn't. I cannot answer that."

"It’s Memorial Day 2023 and I am again thinking about this young man and wondering if he is the same Jeremy Tamborello that was in my first grade classroom at Field Elementary in Littleton. I remember Little Jeremy so well. I can still hear his six year old voice. He was a very sweet little boy. If anyone knows if this hero was my student, I would love to know."
Rhonda Johnson (formerly Knoop) of Montrose CO, USA
"You sweet boy, the many times we ate peanut butter and jelly sandwiches or just played in the grass by the apartment with my little girl. She loved playing with you so much but even more so your favorite game was army with soldiers behind the big trees in the Courtyard. I knew you would grow up to be something special and I think about you always, amazing young man! I will neve forget you!"

"I never want to forget the sacrifices of so many young men and women. I am so proud it makes me cry. I understand in theory only that war is a part of human nature but so is love and caring. I wish I could take the families pain away but I can't. I am committed to loving ALL people, myself and our environment. I am committed to working on my happiness everyday because so many have died for my freedom to live my life. Thank you is not enough but it is all I have. All my love and respect. ogersteiner@yahoo.com

"Today, 10/11/08, I received my hero bracelet with Jeremy's name on it. I want to let his family know, that although I don't know Jeremy, I will wear this bracelet in honor of him for the rest of my life. It is the least I can do for someone who lost his life protecting our freedom. My husband, who is a retired USAF Lt. Col. was drafted in 1972, but never had to go to war. I wear this bracelet in honor of him, as well. Much love to Jeremy'sa family."

"I met Jeremy the morning he and my son Nathan deployed for OIF3. They had been friends since boot camp. I felt the pain in Nathan's voice 88 days later when he told me Jeremy had been killed. According what Nathan believed, Jeremy knew Christ as his Savior, so I look forward to seeing him again and to watch Nathan and Jeremy walk the streets of Heaven together. What a re-union it will be!"

"If tears could build a stairway,
And memories were a lane.
I would walk right up to heaven,
To bring you home again.
No farewell words were spoken,
No time to say good-bye.
You were gone before I knew it,
And only God knows why.
My heart still aches in sadness,
And secret tears still flow.
What it meant to lose you,
No one will ever know.
You and angels around Gods happy throne.
I would have held you closer if I had known
