"I had the honor to meet Brandon in basic training we clicked from the start he was so funny and just a great person. We even have some pictures from basic training together. I found out he passed away when I came home from my 1st deployment and reenlisted to go to Fort Bliss Texas when I walk into the battalion I saw picture on the wall saying he was KIA in 04 . It killed me I only knew him for the 3 months in basic training but he had an impact on my life . I remember during FTX I was his battle buddy and we had to build our tent for the night and also dig out our fox hole. We stayed up all night taking about what we wanted to do in life and how we were both going to by street bike lol. He was a great dude . I know he's in a better place . Just thankful I had the honor to meet him even if it was for a short amount of time. God bless you and your family brother . RIP"

"I never want to forget the sacrifices of so many young men and women. I am so proud it makes me cry at times. I understand, in theory only, that war is a part of human nature but so is love and caring. I wish I could take your families and friends pain away but I can't. I am committed to loving ALL people, myself and our environment. I am committed to working on my happiness everyday because so many have died for my freedom to live my life. Thank you is not enough but it is all I have. All my love and respect. ogersteiner@yahoo.com

I would like to say to the family of Brandon R. Sapp, that I had the privilege of having him as a best friend when I was stationed in Ft.Hood. I remember when he first arrived at the unit, we clicked instantly. Him and I would meet up after last formation and go out for good times. He was one heck of a guy, I have alot of fond memories of him. I remember one time, Him and I found an open hatch leading to the roof of the barracks. We'd go up there sometimes with a twelve pack of beer and talk about home, our families, upcoming training exercises, road marches, recent jokes we've heard and alot of humorous conversations. I remember the time I had bought a leather jacket with a bluish inside liner. Brandon liked it so much that any weekend that we'd go out, he'd ask to borrow it. One time he told me he was going back to Florida to visit his Grandfather and wanted to wear it home. I said sure and he took it along with him. When he got back, the jacket was dry cleaned and in plastic wrap. I was so impressed about how he took care of my jacket,I said "You like it that much huh? keep it, its yours." he said "Get out of here, you're joking right?" I said "no its yours, take it." The look on his face was priceless. On weekends if we didn't have any weekend duties, we'd travel to Dallas and Austin. One time we were training in the woods of Ft.Polk. It was night time and we were wet, muddy, cold and miserable. I looked at him and said " Man, this sucks" he said " Yeah it does!" and started laughing. Just by him laughing, that made me start laughing and things didn't seem so bad knowing I had a good buddy right there with me. Brandon was always good at cheering me up when he knew I was in a bad mood. A person can meet many people in a lifetime but only a few you can really call a true friend. Brandon was a true friend to me and I'll never forget him. He'll always be in my thoughts and prayers."

"My name is SrA Jordan J. Flaga. Im from Detroit, MI, and Im in the US Air Force. Im aircrew on the C-130 transport aircraft. Unfortunately, one of the worst parts of the job is transporting the passed from the combat zone. I will forever remember Brandon R. Sapp because he was the first fallen hero ive ever carried out. Ive carried many a general, congressman, and world leader in my aircraft, but ive never felt as honored as to help carry Brandon, and others like him out of that place. I just want y'all to know that he is forever in my thoughts. I know its been sometime, but this is the first time Ive thought about looking him up online. My sincere condolences."

"To the Sapp Family, First of all, I know the grief of a close loss. My brother was killed in a motorcycle accident and each day is a struggle to not just break down and cry. I viewed Billy Lane's Blood, Sweat and Gears video in Laughlin and was so glad he highlighted your family and Brandon. What a tribute. I felt sorry when Mr. Sapp said he did not think there would ever be peace. I am a Jehovah's Witness and confident in the Bible's promises of a new world, God's Kingdom. I could send you some literature if you like. But, trust me, the Bible promises a resurrection and for the meek to inherit the earth. The dead are conscience of nothing at all as stated in Ecclesiastes. So, imagine Brandon sleeping and soon he will be awakened. It gives me peace of mind now to think of my brother that way and to look forward to seeing him again. It is no dream- contact me or a local Kingdom Hall for a free Bible study if you wish. God did not intend for us to kill or go to wars and be killed. The whole world is lying in the power of the wicked one, Satan. Continue to have faith and dwell on pleasant memories. Caring thoughts, Lori"
