"My husband and I were watching the Memorial Day Tribute to all the fallen soldiers, on Sunday May 25, 2008. As the pictures were flashing someone I knew appeared. The man that I belived would be around forever. Tanya, I have thought about you and Dennis on a weekly basis. Wondering what kind of great places the Army has stationed your family. My heart is heavy now with your loss, and I will continue to pray for you and your family.
Love Always,

"I want the family of Dennis P. Merck to know that I placed a flag in his honor at the First Baptist Church, Orlando Florida on Sunday, May 27, 2007. The church honored every American soldier we have lost in Iraq. I pulled Dennis Merck's name at random. My committment to you and family made at the altar in church was to pray for Dennis and his family in remembrance of his honor and serving the USA. Dennis Merck's name was not forgotten. His flag is flying at this time on the lawn of the church and will be until July 4th, 2007. God Bless America and the Merck family.
