"I never want to forget the sacrifices of so many young men and women. I am so proud it makes me cry. I understand in theory only that war is a part of human nature but so is love and caring. I wish I could take the families pain away but I can't. I am committed to loving ALL people, myself and our environment. I am committed to working on my happiness everyday because so many have died for my freedom to live my life. Thank you is not enough but it is all I have. All my love and respect. ogersteiner@yahoo.com

"My name is monique Buelna. Jesse is my uncle and I love and miss him very much. I loved it when he used to take me to the park and tell me all kinds of really funny jokes. I'll always remember him by the look on his face when he left for iraq."

"Jesse and I went to Science Camp together as counselors back in 2002. I led the girls group and was paired with him leading a group of rowdy boys. Although we did not keep in touch on a regular basis, I have always held those memories from that trip close in my heart. He was fantastic with the kids- a kid at heart himself. My favorite memory is a picture I still have of him and I, arms over each other's shoulders, wearing the camp shirts that everyone signed. His signature is on my shirt.

To his parents, family, and friends- I just happened to stumble across this website. I found a remote friend- one who passed doing his job. I send my gratitude to you all- for raising such a respectful and honest man."

"I was in Jesse's platoon for much of our deployment. I'll always remember his gentle smile and his respect for his buddies. I would always find him smoking outside of his living container while his roommate was on mid-tour leave out of respect, then i'd invite him to mine to watch movies and smoke some CI's. You will be sorely missed but you have a special place in my heart buddy, I'll never forget you."
