"To Mrs. Lam and your baby daughter.

I was one of the few from 6th Comm. who deployed with your husband to Iraq. We were good friends while in the engineer platoon.

It has been almost 5 years since his and your sacrifice and I still think about him often. I recently watched a movie which portrayed a fallen Marine making his way home. The film brought tears to my eyes and made me understand how important Jeff's sacrifice was.

I feel I need to offer any assistance I can, because I know Jeff would do the same if he was in my position. I would like to help you and your family in any way I can. email me at ny_p8nt@hotmail.com.

Thank you,

Mrs. Lam

"L/CPL Lam is a true hero. On the day that he died he was trying to save another Marine from drownding. He was on the banks of the Euphrtes river helping a buldozer operator. The bulldozer rolled into the river. LCPL Lam dropped his helmet and flak and his rifle and went into the river to save another Marine. No one witnessed his courage but he died trying to save another Marine. He will forever be a hero."
Jim S of St Louis, Mo

"Lcpl.Lam, Semper Fi. Eventhough I only saw you twice at drill, it chilled me down my spine and wreaked me with grief when I realized. You represent of what is greatest in us all as marines, you gave your life to save another fellow marine. There is no higher honor than that to me. Semper Fi devil dog, always in the hearts of marines, especialy mine. And to the family of Lcpl.Lam, there are no words that I can say or things I can do to bring him back. But to me, jeffery did what he had to do to save someone else life, to me, he derserves to recieve the Medal of Honor. There is no higher honor than sacrifising himself for some else. We are Marines, and it's what we do. We are one big family, and I'll be glad to offer any assitance to the family. As we say in 6th Comm by some marines:"one heart, one soul." We all feel each other's pain. My name is Pfc.Chow, and I am more than happy to help the family of Lcpl.Lam out in anything. My unit is 6th Comm, Alpha Co. You can find me there. "It's tough having to deal with the loss of a friend. I remember when my unit was first inserted in the southern tip of Iraq, not more than a month after we got there, we were ambushed. We fought bravely, honorably... at the cost of four of our own. I'm sure that after all is said and done, Jeff and everyone else that have lost their lives in battle will be able to smile again. Sometimes, I wonder... Why are we there in the first place? What draws us to battle in this way? I believe that the true answers lay with the fallen. Mr. and Mrs. Lam, you have my deepest sympathies.
