I know we never really knew each other and I was only 5 years old when you passed but i feel as though we have had a strong connection and I'm not really sure why. I just wanted to say I miss you everyday. After I graduate next year, i will be enlisting into the Marine Corps to not only honor you but also all the other fallen Marines and to serve this beautiful country i call my home. I just hope and pray that you'll be looking down on we while i'm there

"Hey man,

Sean Ryan from A 1/3 here, you and I also went to bootcamp together and were in the same platoon. Thought about the day when I saw you in your burgundy Ford F-150 with your wife and kid in the barracks parking lot on K-bay after our first deployment. I still see you with all kinds of dip stuck in your teeth. You made history my man, I'll take your memory with me all my days.

I had the pleasure of knowing you only a short while, but i am thankful for the time. I still remember you calling the evening you were leaving for deployment. I remember being so happy you took the time to call, and teasing you about the long flight you had to look forward to on your way to okinawa... i also remember telling you to hurry home so i could come back to Hawaii to see you. and now.. if I had known then, my words would have been much different. It's been more than two months, and I don't know if it's really hit me yet. I keep waiting for all of you to get back to Hawaii, and I still see your number in my phone. But you really are gone, and I wish more than anything that I would have taken that extra second, to thank you, to tell you how much I admire you. and also, to tell you how happy i was to know you. you will be remembered"
