"I never want to forget the sacrifices of so many young men and women. I am so proud it makes me cry. I understand in theory only that war is a part of human nature but so is love and caring. I wish I could take the families pain away but I can't. I am committed to loving ALL people, myself and our environment. I am committed to working on my happiness everyday because so many have died for my freedom to live my life. Thank you is not enough but it is all I have. All my love and respect. ogersteiner@yahoo.com"

"Here's health to you and to our Corps
Which we are proud to serve;
In many a strife we've fought for life
And never lost our nerve;
If the Army and the Navy
Ever look on Heaven’s scenes;
They will find the streets are guarded
By United States Marines.""

"Dear Sis, Michael is an eternal researcher. I had been speaking about you with him, and when we finished talking he got online and managed to find this page. When I read the other comments all the old emotions came back again. I'm mess right now. I am so, so sad I was not able to be with you at the funeral, and have felt this terrible pain since that day. I love you so much. Please don't think we abandoned you ... I have wanted so badly to hold you from the moment we spoke on the phone. I need to see you. Are you in Page? SLC? If you get this message please contact me through Michael's email or mine: sbehunin [at] ces [dot] washk12 [dot] org"

"Dear Leslie, you probably don't remember me. I last saw you and Quinn when he was a little boy. It's the only memory I have of him. Perhaps that's why it completely broke my heart as I considered my little boys while my wife (Sherri "Olson") sobbed, telling me of your phone call. As a soldier for 8.5 years, I wanted more than anything to honor you, Quinn's mother, at the funeral, but our vehicle broke down on the way there. Sherri has repeatedly expressed an emptiness at not having been able to speak with you ... Yet our hearts, prayers, and thoughts have often been dedicated to you, and to that beautiful boy I only knew as a child. (mymichael2 [at] gmail [dot] com)"
