"Another year gone good sir. Another moment to question purpose and ponder futility, another chance to acknowledge the silence that remains in the soul.
As always, I wish things had ended differently, I wish there was an outcome that left this tradition unkept. Yet, wishes are worth less than honor, and honor is worth more than pain.
You were, and remain, the best of us. In your memory Hendo. May peace have found your fall."

"I cant believe it's Septemeber already. It's so unbelievable. Sometimes it really feels like you're just going to come home soon, or I should be expecting a call from you. The years that have passed dont matter it feels like this all just happened 5 minutes ago. I can remember it more vividly than I can, the back of my hand. It's crazy. I miss you so much. Everyone seems to be doing great here just living free, b/c of the sacrifice you and SO many others have made. Love you, jazbo"

"Yesterday 11/11/11 my Daughter my husband and myself attended a veterans day celebration at my Grand daughters school as we walked the halls my daughter started to cry I asked her what was wrong and she said mama I miss Henrey so much and he would have just loved to be walking trough the halls af this school with all of the kids he loved kids so much. Henrey is missed so much by so many people he was truly a HERO! My daughter looked up to him so much he was like a big brother to her. While we were in Germany he looked out for her no matter where they went we never worried about he because we knew Henrey was going to look out for her now she is all grown up with a family of her own. her husband served in the same unit as Henrey she married him a few years after he got back from iraq and let me tell you when they were dating Henrey didn't like it at all he said if he ever hurts you, you just let me know and he meant it. My daughter has three kids now 2 girls and a little boy who she proudly named Austin Justice De Leon after Her friend and Hero Jashus Justice Henrey."

"We walked among the crosses
Where our fallen soldiers lay.
And listened to the bugle
As taps began to play.
The Chaplin led a prayer
We stood with heads bowed low.
And I thought of fallen comrades
I had known so long ago.
They came from every city
Across this fertile land.
That we might live in freedom.
They lie here 'neath the sand.
I felt a little guilty
My sacrifice was small.
I only lost a little time
But these men lost their all.
Now the services are over
For this Memorial Day.
To the names upon these crosses
I just want to say,
Thanks for what you've given
No one could ask for more.
May you rest with God in heaven
From now through evermore."

"Joshua,
You touched so many lives in the short time you were with us. I was reading the letter you had sent us and your concern was not for what you were going through but how everyone back home was doing. That seemed to always be what was most important, family and friends and the line between them seemed to cross over so that we did not know the difference. Thanks Josh for the wonderful example for so many to follow!!! I am looking forward to sitting down with you when my time here is done. It will be a wonderful time!! 'till then your family here will always be special to us!!!"

"I hate this time of the year but I know that you are very missed by all of us. It has been a while since I left you a message on here but I know you can hear and see us. We think of you all the time. Every time I look in my mirror you are there... on my back window. Nathan is very sad you are gone. You wouldn't even know him... he looks like his dad and is as tall as him and a great hockey player. A JOCK like you! He is wearing your number to school tomarrow so everyone knows you are with us on the hardest day of his life. You was his first lost in his life that hurt and my dad passing away only a couple months after you was extremely hard for a young boy. But his life is better because of having both of you around him and just knowing you were his family and had your short life taken from you means so much to him that you were fighting for our lives when yours was taken. We got to meet Chely and some of the guys and everyone loves you and misses you. The community has not forgot.... you are everywhere still.
NO ONE WILL FORGET!!!
I just wish no one else would have to talk to a family member like this. This is hard to do... I sit here alone wondering what is next. And I just hope for a tomarrow to come for everyone.
Miss you and love you man..."

"To Josh's family...
I'm in nashville just sitting in front of my computer trying to write a song that means something. No such luck tonight in that regard. But it did get my mind to thinking and because it is now September, Josh is on my mind. You all are on my mind. As I sit here and try to think of "things that matter"... all i can think about is my brief brush with josh and how much that touched me. Then i think about how it must feel to have shared a person's whole life with them, and how it must feel to lose him. Larry, the words that you wrote after the dedication (perri sent them to me) were the most touching of all. I just really adore you and your entire family and want you to know that you are on my mind and certainly always in my heart. Okay... later. xoxo chely"

I'm so sorry for your loss! I know it's been 2 years and some days since he left us. I'm still mourning his death, so i cant imagine what you all are going through. My prom picture still sits in my dining room on the shelf. That is one picture that will never be out of date. He had such an impact on every life he touched and he was always a joy to be around. I remember one night when a group of us were hanging out, I was sad for some odd reason and henry did everything in his power to cheer me up. It makes me smile just thinking about it. "It is that time again when our heart are very heavy. We didn't forget about you on one of the worst days of our lives. I was looking at you photo today and could not speak of the day we lost you. Only if other realize we are not murderers, we are there to help them get their freedom as we have over here. They need to stand up with us and fight against those who are hurting them. Only if they understand, they are stronger then they think if they stand together as one. No one person or group can ruin them, only if they let it happen. So stand up and be strong for yourselves so we can have our loved ones back on US soil so they can protect us~ to do the job they signed us for. Not to free the world but to give our children a safe place to live here. You can do the same. This makes me angry everytime someone says it is for our freedom... we are free. If they don't like how they live, move or change it.
We miss Josh with all of our hearts. This should not be the message we should be saying to him. It should be we love you!!! and be able to hug him. So before you send your child to fight for our freedom... we are free."

"Josh, as your birthday approaches I came here to tell you how much I miss you every single day. I am overwhelmed at all the messages left over the last 15 months. Not a day goes by that I don't think of you and miss you, and I know I'm not the only one. I finally have a hero, Josh, and I'm so proud of you and I'm so honored to know you. My daughter just asked why I was crying and I told her about you, her "uncle". I'll never forget how you took her in your arms around the cafeteria after school before a football game when she was just born showing her off. I wish you could have met my son. My hope is that they grow up remembering you and that I can instil a part of your spirit in them. You are our hero Josh. We love you and miss you so much. Happy (early) Birthday."

"Being a year since you left us, all i can remember is the night i walked into the funeral home to say good-bye, and seeing so many people. you were loved by so many and missed by so many more. People who barely talked to you knew you because you sent off such an array of hope and joy. I knew you only through my cousins "The Gourley Bros", and I went to school with Jerrad. I never really talked to you but i rememeber how my cousins and family would talk about you. How great you were and how much you loved life. And just being a face in the crowd, i noticed how right my family was. You were a great person and such a wonderful role model. The saturday after you left, me and Justine went to tees n tops and got the famous "Henry" shirts made. I thought it was important to express how you were respected and missed. We almost didn't make it there because they closed 5 minutes after we got there. but we were lucky enough to get it done. Then the night of the candle lit service at the field I read in the paper that was past around it said that "When there are 2 or more people meeting in Josh's name that is where he will be." It made me smile because it made me realize why me and justine made it to tees n tops just in time... you were there. you wanted us to get those shirts made. And now look at how many Henry shirts you will see walking through the halls at Apollo-Ridge and even through the streets of apollo. We all miss you Josh and there isn't a day that goes by you are not thought of. Thank you, for serving our country and for the rights we have now as a country. You are greatly respected and loved by so many."

"Hey this too all the Henry's. I remember Josh a lot. He's one of the origanal edmon boys. I played baseball with him and actaully look up to him since he was about 2 years older than me. He was a good man and a great brother. I wish i could been back there for everything but i actauly live in North Dakota now. I just joined the service and actauly am going to be graduating AIT hear on friday the 26 of August 2005. It's almost guaranted for a soldier in any part of the army to spend some time in the war zone. It doesn't scare me but i dedicate my time to Josh. I also have two realy goods friends deployed at the moment. Josh is still remembered and will always be remembered for what he did."
PVT Joshua J. Reilly of Bismarck, ND USA

"Hope is an anchor and love is a ship
Time is the ocean and life is a trip
You don't know where you're goin'
'Til you know where your at
And if you can't read the stars
Well, you'd better have a map
A compus and a conscious
So you don't get lost at sea
Lonesome old lonely island
Where no one wants to be
From the beginning of creation
I think our maker had a plan
For us to leave these shores
And sail beyond the sand
And let the good light guide us
To the waves and the wind
To the beaches in a world
Where we've have never been
And we'll climb upon the mountain y'all
We'll let our voices ring
And those who've never tried it
They'll be the first to sing
Oh, my, my
I'll see you on the other side
If I make it
And it might be a long hard ride
But I'm gonna take it
Sometime it seems that I don't have a prayer
Let the weather take me anywhere
But I know that I want to go
The streets are gold 'cause you'll be there
Oh, my, my
You don't bring nothin' with you here
And you can't take nothin' back
I ain't never seen a hearse with a luggage rack
So I've torn my knees a-prayin'
Scared my back from fallin' down
Spent so much time flyin' high
'Til I'm face first in the ground
So if you're up there watchin' me
Would you talk to God and say
Tell him I might need a hand
To see you both someday
Oh, my, my
So, I'll see you on the other side
If I make it
And it may be a long hard ride
But I want to take it
Sometime it seems that I don't have a prayer
Let the weather take me anywhere
But I know that I want to go
Where the streets are gold
'Cause you'll be there (you'll be there)
Oh, my, my
'Cause you'll be there (you'll be there)
Oh, my my I'll see you on the other side....
Joshua we all miss you so much xoxoxo."

One, because I get to hear them all say "God" in a good way and two, because "justice" really is for all. Josh died for all of us and I couldn't be more proud. Thank you, Josh, for your ultimate sacrifice. May all who knew you share in the joy of knowing you and the joy that in your loss you helped to spread the liberty and justice we know throughout the world. Because of brave men like you, we are indivisible. Thank you and God bless."
