"It has been 8 yrs today that the Marine Corps lost a great Marine. I was Todd’s recruiter. He wanted to be a Marine more than anyone I had ever seen. Todd had tremendous potential to excel and was a polite and professional young man even before joining. Knowing that I enlisted has put a feeling of guilt on me, but he didn’t want to do anything else other than be a Marine. I think of him daily and wish we could serve side by side. Bill and Kathy, I am so sorry.

"Kathy, you have been on my heart for several days now. The "another year" mark is upon us again. The other morning I woke up and thought of Todd, I remember the day Ricky called me and shared as much as he could with me. My heart broke for you that day, but I had no idea of the pain that you were feeling. I only thought I knew....barely a month later I lost Ricky. As we know there is no pain like losing a child. I pray for you as the day draws closer and the pain seems to be more intense than usual. Our Sons will never be forgotten.......they live on in so many hearts....."
Karen Latham -mother of Sgt. Richard Lord of Fanning Springs, Fl

"I never want to forget the sacrifices of so many young men and women. I am so proud it makes me cry. I understand in theory only that war is a part of human nature but so is love and caring. I wish I could take the families pain away but I can't. I am committed to loving ALL people, myself and our environment. I am committed to working on my happiness everyday because so many have died for my freedom to live my life. Thank you is not enough but it is all I have. All my love and respect. ogersteiner@yahoo.com"

To the Meier family of Michigan; we lived near Grand Rapids when Todd was quite young. He enjoyed living there, playing in his neighborhood, sledding in the winter, and playing with his friends. We have many fond memories of our time in Michigan, raising Todd and our other children there. Thank you for taking the time to let us know that others are doing things to remember our fallen."
