I wish I could take the families pain away but I can't. I am committed to loving ALL people, myself and our environment. I am committed to working on my happiness everyday because so many have died for my freedom to live my life. Thank you is not enough but it is all I have. "I was a teenager, living next door to your mother and father, when news of your father's death came so unexpectedly when your mother was pregnant with you. My family and I loved your Dad, Jim. He was a good, no nonsense sort of guy your brothers and sisters adored. And your mother loved him so much that she always got a dreamy, smitten look in her eyes whenever she spoke of him. When you were born, I was fortunate enough to cradle you in my arms and gaze into your sweet, dark eyes while you nursed your bottle. I called you Josie and I'm certain you would be glad that nickname didn't stick. I loved your whole family: Terry, Stephen, Marie, James and your sweetheart of a mother, Gerry. I was so sadden to hear of your sacrifice and the terrible burden it placed on your loved ones. How was I to know that the precious infant I so loved would grow up to be a hero? But, you are with your father now in Heaven with our Lord where there are no more tears and no more war. I am so glad you grew up to be a fine man worthy of the Garyantes name. Peace be with you always."

"To the family of Sgt Joseph Garyantes, I'm sorry it took me this long to come and offer condolences. My husband and myself know how it feels to lose a son. We lost our only son on Sept 11, 2001 at the Pentagon. I remember how much it meant for people to reach out to us and let us know our son would never be forgotten. Your son is a hero and we will never forgot the sacrifice he made to serve our country. My sons death was not in vain, and the sacrificing our military members and their families are making mean the world to me."

"In Memory of My son, Sgt Joseph Garyantes My message to loving people who have prayed and honored us during this time of grieving my son - I share my heart of appreciation and deep love for one of my children that was given to me as a gift from God. I am reminded of another time when I grieved Joe's Dad of how the Word reminded me -we are bought with a price by our Savior's death on the cross. If we are living for him- we are his servants and our families are his. He taught me to love every moment of everyday and love others. My son Joe was one that I loved and He gave it back because of his love and faith to others. He lived his life for others and became an awesome man, soldier, son, husband and father. What can I say but Thank you God for allowing me to be his Mother. I am proud of him serving our country, believing in what He did and respecting authority over him. He learned it well. The Bible says if we are good stewards of small things - we will do greater things. Joe learned that along with many other soldiers who serve us unselfishly. My prayer is for our country to pray for those in authority so God can give them wisdom and pray for all our fallen soldiers families to "Be of good Courage." I am a Blessed Mother and someday will see my son again in Heaven- for this I thank the biggest hero- Jesus Christ , who died for you and I so we have a future and hope. God Bless America and Thanks Joe--Thanks for Monica and Tevin and Ryan- we will do our best to help them.
Love You,Mom"

""To my brother,Joseph..
I sit here and i don`t know where to begin.I know what you stood for and i knew your heart. It hurts from time to time but we are making it the best we can.It hurt so much i don`t know what to do,i can`t fix this one this time.I want to be there for your wife and children and i feel like there all alone. But i know our lord is watching over them. You were so much to so many people and gave so much of yourself.I remember the day you came and sat me down to tell me you were joining the army as if i could stop or talk you out of it.I was proud of the brother you were that day and proud to have been your brother over these years, but you knew that .You have touch me so much over the years and you know that i love you very much and allways will and that i`m proud of you.I only hope that i can love unselfishly in my lifetime as you have done in such a short time.I will do my best to be there anytime your boys need me.It hurts so much to know that they are going to miss the best father i have ever had the honer of knowing. Life is very strange at times and we can`t try and beat ourselves up trying to figure out why some us are taken and some us are left. But God is in control of all things and this i know is true.So we will miss you and will cry, laugh and remember you. This place is not going to be the same knowing you are not here, but you are here, right here in my heart.I love you brother and i`m not ever going to forget who Joseph Garyantes is and was.
