"I knew Patrick we were deployed together and spent a few months before going to Iraq in 29 palms. During that time in 29 palms, there was a young Marine who was constantly getting into trouble was made fun of and was denied his weekend liberty. I laughed at the poor Marine and left to go drinking as did most of my friends but not Pat he stayed with the guy and when we came back he had been playing cards and board games with the guy. Patrick sitting down with the guy made all the difference instead of getting into trouble he started squaring himself away and all he needed was a friend.

I still think about him and I remember the picture he was so proud of his son as peter pan and even now it makes me choke up."

I'd like to add, that the last time I saw Patrick alive he had confided in a mutual friend and I. That he had a bad feeling of what was to come. And, even with his gut instinct expecting the worst, he stood tall and still deployed to fight for this country and it's freedon.
