". I was stationed with private Ewing in baumholder and Iraq, with bravo company. We had some pretty good times and he was a good man. I have very fond memories of him and probably even a picture if I looked hard for it. He was a laid back chill guy usually smiling. It was people like him that made the war bearable. I miss you and will never forget your big smile Ewing."

"Jeremy and I used to always argue about our home towns. I always had a reason for Chicago being a better town than Miami and he always had a reason why Miami was better than Chicago. Neither won the argument, but we vowed to meet up and party in each city some day. I ended up in Miami in 2004 and drank a beer to my brother.
One of my fondest memories of Jeremy, however, was the day I learned he had never before seen or felt snow. The first frost of the the German fall settled in and Jeremy proceeded to lay on his back and attempt to make snow angels. I felt bad forcing him to realize that what he was experiencing was not snow. It was just another piece of classic Ewing behavior. You will always be missed, brother."

"I never want to forget the sacrifices of so many young men and women. I am so proud it makes me cry at times. I understand, in theory only, that war is a part of human nature but so is love and caring. I wish I could take your families and friends pain away but I can't. I am committed to loving ALL people, myself and our environment. I am committed to working on my happiness everyday because so many have died for my freedom to live my life. Thank you is not enough but it is all I have. All my love and respect. ogersteiner@yahoo.com

"DAMN I MISS THIS GUY. I remember being stationed in Germany with Ewing and we would always hit the club together. I still remember sitting in the room listening to the new 50 cent album back in 2003. When I came back from Iraq in 2004, I remember, getting ready to go out and I'd stop by Ewing's room to see if he wanted to come out with us...only to be reminded that he wasn't going to answer. I think about him all the time. It was a real tragedy to have lost a friend. I never knew his family, but I wish I did. I was in Miami last year and I wanted to contact a family member but I didn't even know where to start. If anybody out there gets this, my name is Diego. E-mail address is diegosb@hotmail.com

"Ewing was the guy you went to if you needed a laugh...those who knew him, knew that he was relatively care free and took things in stride. He could be depended on for that. If you thought your day was bad, talk to Ewing, he would tell you a thousand ways how his day was worse, but he always made it funny...Ewing...i'm sorry that your gone, but you left doing it right. No one can take that away from you, ever.
You are missed.
To the Ewing Family, I am terribly sorry for your loss. Your son was a terrific soldier, regardless of the way some people viewed him. I could depend on him. I knew that. Take assurance in the fact that Jeremy touched people in many ways, almost daily. He will be missed"
