"To the Family and friends of James Costello:
It is Memorial day 2007 as I write this. I did not know of James and his story but I was inspired to learn more of this fallen hero. This past Sunday at our church First Baptist Orlando we remembered those that had fallen in Iraq and Afghanistan by placing flags with the names of those that have made the ultimate sacrifice on behalf of this nation. It was James' flag that I carried and had the privilege to pray for his family and friends. I will never forget James' sacrifice to protect and keep me and my family free. May God Bless you for He who gave His Son Jesus as the ultimate sacrifice for our forgiveness knows your loss"

"There are many we call hero. This soldier is certainly one of them. He freely gave of himself for the freedom we all share.
Today, I talked with the father of this fallen soldier. He too is a hero. He told me of his son, and how he wanted to serve in the Calvary (as did his grandfather). This family is rich in service to our country, thank you!
God Bless you always! There is life and death, and there is life after death. There must be a wonderful reunion going on between grandfather and grandson.
My own son is graduating college this year. I was talking with this hero father about my plans to move my son to Washington. D.C. after his graduation. He never mentioned his own son until after I noticed the soldiers picture on his desk and asked about it. Then I heard the sad story of what happened.
Quietly, this man goes about his daily life, and carries this heavy heart. He and his family, with their son, are true hero's."
