"I had the honor of knowing Sean for a short while when he was stationed here in Washington state at Fort Lewis. He used to work with me part time as a delivery driver for Godfather's pizza. In the short time we managed to forge a friendship and I always looked forward to seeing him (even though sometimes he tried to throw me in a trash can). I regret to say that we lost contact when he was transferred but he's always been in my heart. I just heard this morning that this wonderful man was killed and I have to say it's been a tough morning. My thoughts and prayers are with Sean and his family. I write this to you with a heavy heart. How can I even begin to put into words what I am feeling right now? We send our sons off to war knowing they are fighting for a better world for all of us. He came to us from the Headquarters Platoon after we took Baqubah Airfield, and served in my Platoon until a few weeks before this tragic event. Words alone can not express my sorrow and feelings of loss for this great man and his wonderful family. I remember great times sitting around with this wonderful man talking about a son that he had not yet had a chance to meet and showing off the pictures that he had of him. I will never forget you, or the ultimate sacrafice that you and your family made for me and the rest of this great nation of ours. May god bless you Sean; a son, a husband, a father, and a Hero."

"I served with SGT Sean Cataudella in Operation Iraqi Freedom from April to July. He served honorably in a unit that led from the front and conducted nightly raids and patrols in dangerous areas of the Sunni Triangle. When his HMMWV rolled into a canal, he reached up and pulled the gunner into the vehicle. SPC Schaffer (the gunner) was revived and is alive today because of this selfless action. SGT Cataudella was subsequently pinned inside the vehicle and tragically died as a result of his injuries. It was an honor to serve in his company. He is truly a hero to this nation. I extend my prayers and deepest sympathies to Naomi and the children. He is missed by all who knew him."

"When I heard the news Sean had died, my heart broke. He was an amazing father, husband and friend. He took his lunch time to go to his daughters school to play with her at recess time. When he was home he was spending it doing things with his kids, reading to them or playing at the park. He was more then a wonderful father he was a husband to a woman just as wonderful as he. They was high school sweethearts and had the fairy tale marriage. He loved with out condition and with all his heart. The day Sean died a great man died!
Forever he will live in my memory and Forever I will be thanful for having the chance to know him.
