"My dearest friend, hero, love, brother and amazing man. There is not a day that goes by I don't have pain in my heart from you not being here and though I blame so many for this misfortune I blame myself more that I was not there to do more to keep you in my life. Losing you has been my greatest lost in life and I do not know where to turn for comfort but to my memories of you. I hate not having you to talk to or see your smiling face. Love you a lot and miss you even more papi. You are a great man and most honorable hero."

"I am one of Marvin's many loves but the only one that had the blessing of having his only child. Marvin had a big heart and lots of love to give, but he knew how to make us happy. I have to thank him because he gave me the most important and the most beautiful thing in my life wich is my son. I knew Marving well because before being the father of my child he was my friend and it is incredible how much like his father my son is, is like having a little Marvin in my house and not only in how silly he is but he loves to flirt with girls alot and as you can tell he didn't get that from me. I just want to thank you all for being so supportive and I thank God that i had a lot of people by my side when i had to introduce my son to his father in a coffin, it was very hard and sad. i am making a memory book for my son about his father with pictures and comments like the ones here in this page, if you would like to help me tellimg me your experience around Marvin or sending pictures i would apreciate it. I want my son to know what a beautiful human being he was and how loved he is. Feel free to write at gabbylanta@yahoo.com i would be glad to send pictures of our son if you want to meeet him."
Gabby of Georgia, Usa

"Marvin was one of the best friends I had the privilege of ever knowing. We had alot of fun together hanging out in Germany and getting to know each other. He was like a brother to me. He would always pick at me and wrestling around trying to prove who is the strongest. He was so inivative and strong. One whom you would never had thought that one day he would not be around. I miss him dearly but will never forget him, ever. He is a true inspiration to me and I thrive to do my best so that others will know him and recognize him for his great service to his country and fellow man. Marvin is one of the greatest and honorable men of our time and I hope that the family will know how much of a treasure he is to this world and in our lives. We love you Marvin and will never let you go."
Tony Clifton of Chesapeake, VA.

"Marvin:

Marvin and I were each others first true loves. We experienced things couples probably have never experienced before. Though each of us ended going our separate ways after 4 1/2 years we still had a place in each others' hearts for one another. Now he watches over everyone he loved and truly cared for.
barbie of atlanta, georgia/USA

"Marvin was my best friend, he was also my first love. We met in high school at the beginning of my freshman year, 1998. He wrote me every other day from Iraq. He loved what he did, and he believed in the cause. He died while protecting our rights. He was my protector in life, and now in the hereafter as I know he will never leave my side. Marvin is now, and always was, my Hero. He held the world in his hands, as well as my heart. He was one of those people you could call in the middle of the night no matter what, who would put his pain aside to help heal yours. I just hope that I was half the friend to him that he was to me. I will be forever greatful for the time that God gave me with him in my life, for they were the best. He is truly missed, and as long as I live Marvin; you will not be forgotten here on Earth."

"I met Marvin in high school in 1996. His funeral was yesterday, April 24,2004. It was sad to see old friends reunited under such a terribly devastating circumstance.
To all of those who knew Marvin: After seeing him for the last time yesterday, reality sunk in. Around 12:30, we said our finally goodbyes to Marvin. I said a prayer next to him and touch his stiff body. I realized then that Marvin,as we knew him, was no longer inside that body. The body that we knew as Marvin has taken a different form that will take us a while to get used to. You will find him along with God whenever you're ready."
Barbara Rivera of Mableton, GA
