"20 years ago we were sitting in our living room watching tv when a name Brian Buesing of Cedar Key FL came across the news. My mom and I sat in grief for the family and a community that means so much to us. As of today we have been coming to Cedar Key for over 30 years from Nashville, TN. Even though we didn’t know Brian personally my mom and I started visiting his grave our very next visit. My marine and I got married in Cedar Key 14 years ago. To this day every time we visit, we bring our kids. My husband talks to them about the sacrifice made and what it means for our freedom. My kids wipe his tombstone down and we pay our respects to a man we never knew but we owe it all to. RIP Brian."
Jennifer Cortes of Smyrna, TN/ USA

"When searching for a USMC photo in Google today, 3/23/23, I came across an image from this young man's funeral. The irony of the date is not lost on me. I'm the mom of a Marine, and it kills me to see a life taken so soon. May God continue to protect his soul and his loved ones he left behind."
Cherie Pannizzo of Levittown, NY

Of all the kids I recruited, I have always remembered you. You have always had a light in you that burned brighter than any other. For years, I have tried to say words, any words to let you and your family know that you are in my thoughts and prayers. I felt responsible for your loss for so many years. It has take manny words from your family and friends to know that you love being a Marine. I always knew you would be great. I do miss you and will always remember you. I know that you may be gone from this earth, but you are always in my heart. Keep watch on your family, they will all turn to you because they know you are there. You are fine, but never forgotten. Your recruiter…"

I started a memorial website for Our Country's Fallen Hero's. I saw Brian's Photo while looking through the soldiers from Florida. I created a memorial for your son and have included a link here. I hope it will bring you comfort. He was very Brave and I know how Proud you are of him.

Cheryl Polk of Sanford, FL

""My estimate of him was formed on the battlefield many, many years ago, and has never changed. I regard him then as I regard him now -- as one of the world's noblest figures, not only as one of the finest military characters, but also as one of the most stainless. His name and fame are the birthright of every American citizen. In his youth and strength, his love and loyalty, he gave all that mortality can give. He needs no eulogy from me or from any other man. He has written his own history and written it in red on his enemy's breast. But when I think of his patience under adversity, of his courage under fire, and of his modesty in victory, I am filled with an emotion of admiration I cannot put into words. He belongs to history as furnishing one of the greatest examples of successful patriotism. He belongs to posterity as the instructor of future generations in the principles of liberty and freedom. He belongs to the present, to us, by his virtues and by his achievements. I have witnessed that enduring fortitude, that patriotic self-abnegation, and that invincible determination which have carved his statue in the hearts of his people. From one end of the world to the other he has drained deep the chalice of courage.""
