Cuervo was on a mounted patrol in Baghdad, Iraq when an improvised explosive device hit his vehicle. He was assigned to 1st Squadron, 2nd Armored Cavalry Regiment, Fort Polk, Louisiana. Died on December 28, 2003.

Mihalakis died as a result of injuries sustained in a non-combat vehicle accident at the Baghdad International Airport in Baghdad, Iraq. He was assigned to the 270th Military Police Company, 49th Military Police Battalion, 100th Troop Command, California Combat Support Command, Army National Guard, based in Fairfield, California. Died on December 26, 2003.

Voelz was responding to an explosive ordnance disposal call when an improvised explosive device detonated in Iskandariyah, Iraq. Voelz was assigned to the 703rd Explosive Ordnance Detachment, Fort Knox, Kentucky. Died on December 14, 2003.

Army Pfc. Jerrick M. Petty, 25, of Idaho Falls, Idaho.

Blickenstaff was in a Stryker vehicle when it flipped into a canal in Ad Duluiyah, Iraq. He was assigned to the 1st Battalion, 23rd Infantry Regiment, 3rd Brigade Combat Team, 2nd Infantry Division, Fort Lewis, Washington. Died on December 8, 2003.

Tyrrell died at Brooke Army Medical Center, in San Antonio, Texas, of wounds received on November 14 in Tikrit, Iraq. Tyrrell was at an ammunition point when it caught on fire. Army Pfc. David M. Kirchhoff, 31, of Anamosa, Iowa.

Pfc. Kirchhoff died in Landstuhl, Germany after he had suffered a heatstroke in the Iraqi desert on August 8. Kirchhoff was assigned to the First Detachment, 2168th Transportation Company, U.S. Army National Guard, Cedar Rapids, Iowa. Died on August 14, 2003.

Army Sgt. Steven W. White, 29, of Fruitvale, Texas.

White died of injuries sustained when his M113 armored personnel carrier hit an antitank mine in Tikrit, Iraq. White was assigned to Headquarters and Headquarters Battery, 4th Battalion, 42nd Field Artillery Regiment, Fort Hood, Texas. Died on August 13, 2003.

Army Pfc. Timmy R. Brown, Jr., 21, of Conway, Pennsylvania.

Brown was in a convoy in Taji, Iraq when he was injured by an explosive device. Brown died of his injuries. Brown was assigned to D Company, 519th Military Intelligence Battalion, Fort Bragg, North Carolina. Died on August 12, 2003.

Army Staff Sgt. Richard S. Eaton, Jr., 37, of Guilford, Connecticut.

Eaton died in his sleep of a pulmonary edema in Ar Ramadi, Iraq. Eaton was assigned to the 323rd Military Intelligence Battalion, U.S. Army Reserves, Fort Meade, Maryland. Died on August 12, 2003.

Army Pfc. Daniel R. Parker, 18, of Lake Elsinore, California.

Parker was thrown from his vehicle when the driver swerved to avoid an oncoming vehicle in another lane in Mosul, Iraq. Parker was fatally injured. Parker was assigned to B Battery, 2nd Battalion, 44th Air Defense Artillery Regiment, 101st Airborne Division (Air Assault), Fort Campbell, Kentucky. Died on August 12, 2003.

Army Sgt. Taft V. Williams, 29, of New Orleans, Louisiana.

Williams was in a convoy near Ar Ramadi, Iraq when his vehicle hit an improvised explosive device. Williams died of his injuries. Williams was assigned to the 3rd Armored Cavalry Regiment, Fort Carson, Colorado. Died on August 12, 2003.

Army Staff Sgt. David S. Perry, 36, of Bakersfield, California.

Perry was inspecting a suspicious package in Baquabah, Iraq when it exploded and fatally injured him. Perry was assigned to 649th Military Police Company, U.S. Army National Guard, Camp San Luis Obispo, California. Died on August 10, 2003.

Army Spc. Levi B. Kinchen, 21, of Tickfaw, Louisiana.

A fellow soldier in Baghdad, Iraq tried to wake Kinchen and noticed he was not breathing. Kinchen was assigned to 2nd Armored Cavalry Regiment, Fort Polk, Louisiana. Died on August 9, 2003.

Army Sgt. Floyd G. Knighten, Jr., 55, of Olla, Louisiana.

Knighten died in Iraq as a result of a non-combat related cause while in a convoy from Camp Bilad heading to Camp Pennsylvania. Knighten was assigned to the 1087th Transportation Support Company, Army National Guard, Fort Polk, Louisiana. Died on August 9, 2003.

Army Pvt. Matthew D. Bush, 20, of East Alton, Illinois.

A fellow soldier tried to wake Bush at Camp Caldwell, Iraq and noticed he was not breathing. Bush was assigned to F Troop, 1st Squadron, 10th Armored Cavalry Regiment, Fort Hood, Texas. Died on August 8, 2003.

Army Pfc. Brandon Ramsey, 21, of Calumet City, Illinois.

Ramsey was part of a convoy escort mission in Tallil, Iraq when the vehicle he was in rolled over during a chase of a suspicious vehicle and fatally injured him. Ramsey was assigned to the 933rd Military Police Company, U.S. Army National Guard, Chicago, Illinois. Died on August 8, 2003.

Army Pfc. Duane E. Longstreth, 19, of Tacoma, Washington.

Longstreth died as a result of non-combat related injuries in Baghdad, Iraq. Longstreth was assigned to Company B, 307th Engineer Battalion, Fort Bragg, North Carolina. Died on August 7, 2003.

Army Spc. Zeferino E. Colunga, 20, of Bellville, Texas.

Colunga was initially evacuated to the 28th Combat Support Hospital in Iraq on August 4, 2003. He was then evacuated to Landstuhl Army Regional Medical Center and later to Homburg University Hospital in Germany for further evaluation. He remained at Homburg until his death. His death was unrelated to the recent cases of pneumonia in Southwest Asia. Colunga was assigned to 4th Squadron, 2nd Armored Calvary Regiment, Fort Polk, Louisiana. Died on August 6, 2003.

Army Pfc. Kyle C. Gilbert, 20, of Brattleboro, Vermont.

Gilbert died of injuries received during an ambush when an Iraqi vehicle opened fire on his unit in Baghdad, Iraq. Gilbert was assigned to C Company, 2nd Battalion, 325th Parachute Infantry Regiment, 82nd Airborne Division, Fort Bragg, North Carolina. Died on August 6, 2003.

Army Staff Sgt. Brian R. Hellerman, 35, of Freeport, Minnesota.

An Iraqi vehicle opened fire on Hellerman's unit in Baghdad, Iraq. He died of injuries received during the ambush. Hellerman was assigned to C Company, 2nd Battalion, 325th Parachute Infantry Regiment, 82nd Airborne Division, Fort Bragg, North Carolina. Died on August 6, 2003.

Army Sgt. Leonard D. Simmons, 33, of New Bern, North Carolina.

Simmons died of a non-combat related cause in Mosul, Iraq. Simmons was assigned to C Company, 3rd Battalion, 502nd Infantry Regiment, 101st Airborne Division (Air Assault), Fort Campbell, Kentucky. Died on August 6, 2003.

Army Spc. Farao K. Letufuga, 20, of Pago Pago, American Samoa.

Letufuga fatally fell from the top of a building while he was performing guard duty in Mosul, Iraq. Letufuga was assigned to Headquarters and Headquarters Company, 3rd Battalion, 327th Infantry Regiment, 101st Airborne Division (Air Assault), Fort Campbell, Kentucky. Died on August 5, 2003.

Army Staff Sgt. David L. Loyd, 44, of Jackson, Tennessee.

Loyd was on a mission when he experienced severe chest pains. The soldier was sent to the Kuwait hospital where he was pronounced dead. Loyd was assigned to the 1175th Transportation Company, Army National Guard, Brownsville, Tennessee. Died on August 5, 2003.

Army Spc. Justin W. Hebert, 20, of Arlington, Washington.

Hebert was on patrol when his vehicle was struck by a rocket propelled grenade in Kirkuk, Iraq. Hebert was assigned to the 319th Field Artillery, 173rd Airborne Brigade, Camp Ederle, Italy. Died on August 1, 2003.

Army Pvt. Michael J. Deutsch, 21, of Dubuque, Iowa.

Deutsch was in a vehicle that was struck by an explosive device in Baghdad, Iraq. Deutsch was assigned to 1st Squadron, 1st Armored Cavalry Regiment, Armstrong Barracks, Germany. Died on July 31, 2003.

Army Spc. James I. Lambert III, 22, of Raleigh, North Carolina.

Lambert was struck by a stray bullet fired during what was believed to be a celebratory event by local nationals in Baghdad, Iraq. Lambert was assigned to the 407th Combat Support Battalion, Fort Bragg, North Carolina. Died on July 31, 2003.

Army 1st Lt. Leif E. Nott, 24, of Cheyenne, Wyoming.

Nott died of wounds received from hostile fire in Belaruz, Iraq. Nott was assigned to A Troop, 1st Battalion, 10th Cavalry, Fort Hood, Texas. Died on July 30, 2003.

Army Sgt. Nathaniel Hart, Jr., 29, of Valdosta, Georgia.

Hart died of injuries he received when his vehicle went off the road and rolled over in Tillil, Iraq. Hart was assigned to the 416th Transportation Company, 260th Quartermaster Battalion, Hunter Army Airfield, Georgia. Died on July 28, 2003.

Army Spc. William J. Maher III, 35, of Yardley, Pennsylvania.

Maher was in a convoy when he was injured by an improvised explosive device. Maher died of his injuries in Baghdad, Iraq. Maher was assigned to the Headquarters and Headquarters Company, 1st Battalion, 36th Infantry Regiment, 1st Armored Division, based at Ray Barracks, Germany. Died on July 28, 2003.

Army Sgt. Heath A. McMillin, 29, of Clifton Springs, New York.

McMillin was on patrol when he came under attack from rocket propelled grenade and small arms fire South of Baghdad, Iraq. McMillin was assigned to the 105th Military Police Company, Army National Guard, Buffalo, New York. Died on July 27, 2003.

Barnes was killed as a result of a grenade being thrown from a window of an Iraqi civilian hospital that he was guarding in Ba'qubah, Iraq. He was assigned to Headquarters and Headquarters Company, 1st Battalion, 67th Armor Regiment, 4th Infantry Division, Fort Hood, Texas. Died on July 26, 2003.

Cheatham was in a convoy that came under rocket propelled grenade attack in Baghdad, Iraq. Cheatham was assigned to the 489th Engineer Battalion, U.S. Army Reserve, North Little Rock, Arkansas. Died on July 26, 2003.

Army Sgt. Daniel K. Methvin, 22, of Belton, Texas.

Methvin was killed as a result of a grenade being thrown from a window of an Iraqi civilian hospital that he was guarding in Ba'qubah, Iraq. He was assigned to Headquarters and Headquarters Company, 1st Battalion, 67th Armor Regiment, 4th Infantry Division, Fort Hood, Texas. Died on July 26, 2003.

Army Pfc. Raheen Tyson Heighter, 22, of Bay Shore, New York.

Killed north of Al Hawd, Iraq, when his military convoy came under enemy fire. Heighter was assigned to the 2/320th Field Artillery, Fort Campbell, Kentucky. Died on July 24, 2003.

Army Staff Sgt. Hector R. Perez, 40, of Corpus Christi, Texas.

Killed north of Al Hawd, Iraq, when his military convoy came under enemy fire. Perez was assigned to Company A, 1st Battalion, 327th Infantry, 101st Airborne Division, Fort Campbell, Kentucky. Died on July 24, 2003.

Army Sgt. Juan M. Serrano, 31, of Manati, Puerto Rico.

Serrano was changing a tire on an M998 vehicle in Baghdad, Iraq when it fell on him inflicting a fatal head injury. Serrano was assigned to Headquarters and Headquarters Company, 1st Battalion, 37th Armor, 1st Armored Division, Friedberg, Germany. Died on July 24, 2003.

Army Capt. Joshua T. Byers, 29, of Nevada.

Byers was killed in action when his convoy hit an explosive device east of Baghdad, Iraq. Byers was assigned to Fox Troop, 2nd Squadron, 3rd Armored Calvary Regiment, Fort Carson, Colorado. Died on July 23, 2003.

Army Sgt. Brett T. Christian, 27, of North Royalton, Ohio.

Christian was in a convoy that came under attack by rocket propelled grenades in Mosul, Iraq. Christian was assigned to Company C, 2nd Battalion, 502 Infantry, 101st Airborne Div., Fort Campbell, Kentucky. Died on July 23, 2003.

Army Spc. Jon P. Fettig, 30, of Dickinson, North Dakota.

Fettig was killed when the Heavy Expanded-Mobility Tactical Truck he was in on the outside of Ar Ramadi, Iraq was hit by a rocket propelled grenade. Fettig was assigned to the 957th Engineer Company (V Corps), Bismarck, North Dakota. Died on July 22, 2003.

Army Cpl. Mark A. Bibby, 25, of Watha, North Carolina.

Bibby was in a convoy to a water treatment facility when an improvised explosive device exploded in Baghdad, Iraq. Bibby was assigned to Headquarters, Headquarters Detachment, 422 Civil Affairs Battalion, Greensboro, North Carolina. Died on July 21, 2003.

Army Sgt. Justin W. Garvey, 23, of Townsend, Massachusetts.

Garvey was patrolling a village in Tallifar, Iraq when the vehicle was ambushed by RPGs. He was assigned to Headquarters, Headquarters Company, 1-187 Infantry Regiment, Fort Campbell, Kentucky. Died on July 20, 2003.

Army Sgt. Jason D. Jordan, 24, of Elba, Alabama.

Jordan was patrolling a village in Tallifar, Iraq when the vehicle was ambushed by RPGs. Jordan was assigned to Headquarters, Headquarters Company, 1-187 Infantry Battalion, Fort Campbell, Kentucky. Died on July 20, 2003.

Air Force Master Sgt. David A. Scott, 51, of Union, Ohio.

Scott died as a result of a non-hostile cause in Doha, Qatar. He was assigned to the 445th Communications Flight, Wright Patterson Air Force Base, Ohio. Died on July 20, 2003.

Army Sgt. 1st Class Christopher R. Willoughby, 29, of Phenix City, Alabama.

Willoughby was riding in a vehicle that rolled over in Baghdad, Iraq. He was assigned to Hotel Company, 121st Infantry (Airborne) (Long Range Surveillance), Fort Gillem, Georgia. Died on July 20, 2003.

Rozier's unit was fired upon by rocket-propelled grenades and small arms fire while manning a vehicle checkpoint in Baghdad, Iraq. Rozier was assigned to B Company, 2-70th Armor Battalion (1st Armored Division), Fort Riley, Kansas. Died on July 19, 2003.

Army Spc. Joel L. Bertoldie, 20, of Independence, Missouri.

Bertoldie was thrown from the military vehicle he was driving in Fallujah, Iraq when an explosive device was detonated underneath. Bertoldie was assigned to Headquarters, Headquarters Company, 4-64 Armor Battalion, Fort Stewart, Georgia. Died on July 18, 2003.

Navy Petty Officer 3rd Class David J. Moreno, 26, of Gering, Nebraska.

Moreno died in Al Hamishiyah, Iraq, from a non-hostile gunshot wound. He was assigned to the Naval Medical Center San Diego, Fourth Marine Division Detachment. Died on July 17, 2003.

Army Sgt. Mason Douglas Whetstone, 30, of Utah.

Whetstone died as a result of non-combat injuries in Baghdad, Iraq. Whetstone was assigned to the 3d Battalion, 58th Aviation (Forward), Hanau, Germany. Died on July 17, 2003.

Army Spc. Ramon Reyes-Torres, 29, of Caguas, Puerto Rico.

Reyes-Torres was killed as he sought cover from a passing truck that contained a command detonated device. Reyes-Torres was assigned to the 432nd Transportation Company, Ceiba, Puerto Rico. Died on July 16, 2003.

Marine Lance Cpl. Cory Ryan Geurin, 18, of Santee, California.

Geurin was standing post on a palace roof in Babylon, Iraq when he fell approximately 60 feet. He was assigned to the 1st Battalion, 7th Marine Regiment, 1st Marine Division, Twentynine Palms, California. Died on July 15, 2003.

Army Sgt. Michael T. Crockett, 27, of Soperton, Georgia.

Crockett was on patrol in Baghdad, Iraq when he came under RPG attack. Crockett was assigned to the 3rd Platoon Bravo Company, 3rd Battalion, 7th Infantry Regiment, Fort Stewart, Georgia. Died on July 14, 2003.

Army Capt. Paul J. Cassidy, 36, of Laingsburg, Michigan.

Cassidy died as a result of non-combat injuries in Camp Babylon, Iraq. Cassidy was assigned to the 432nd Civil Affairs Battalion in Wisconsin. Died on July 13, 2003.

Army Sgt. Jaror C. Puello-Coronado, 36, of Pocono Summit, Pennsylvania.

Puello-Coronado was manning a traffic point when the operator of a dump truck lost control of the vehicle. Puello-Coronado was struck by the truck and died of his injuries at Camp Edson, Iraq. He was assigned to Headquarters and Headquarters Company, 310th Military Police Battalion, Uniondale, New York. Died on July 13, 2003.

Army Spc. Joshua M. Neusche, 20, of Montreal, Missouri.

Neusche died from a non-combat cause in Homburg Hospital, Germany. Neusche was assigned to the 203rd Engineer Battalion, in Joplin, Missouri. Died on July 12, 2003.

Army Spc. Christian C. Schulz, 20, of Colleyville, Texas.

Schulz died as a result of non-combat injuries in Baqubah, Iraq. Schulz was assigned to the 3rd Troop, 67th Armor Battalion, Fort Hood, Texas. Died on July 11, 2003.

Army Sgt. 1st Class Dan H. Gabrielson, 39, of Spooner, Wisconsin.

Gabrielson was killed by hostile fire in Ba Qubah, Iraq while traveling in a convoy that came under attack. He was assigned to the 652nd Engineer Company, Ellsworth, Wisconsin. Died on July 9, 2003.

Army Sgt. Roger D. Rowe, 54, of Bon Aqua, Tennessee.

Rowe died as a result of an enemy sniper attack in Iraq. Rowe was assigned to the 1174th Troop Command, in Columbia, Tennessee. Died on July 9, 2003.

Marine Lance Cpl. Jason Andrew Tetrault, 20, of Moreno Valley, California.

Died in a vehicle accident in Kuwait. Tetrault was assigned to 7th Marine Regiment, 1st Marine Division, Twentynine Palms, California. Died on July 9, 2003.

Army Sgt. Melissa Valles, 26, of Eagle Pass, Texas.

Valles died in Balad, Iraq as a result of non-combat injuries. She was assigned to B Company, 64th Forward Support Battalion, Fort Carson, Colorado. Died on July 9, 2003.

Army Sgt. 1st Class Craig A. Boling, 38, of Elkhart, Indiana.

Boling died of a non-combat related cause in Camp Wolf, Kuwait. Boling was assigned to Company C, 1-152nd Infantry, Tell City, Indiana. Died on July 8, 2003.

Army Pvt. Robert L. McKinley, 23, of Kokomo, Indiana.

McKinley died of a non-combat related cause while supporting Operation Iraqi Freedom in Homberg, Germany. McKinley was assigned to Headquarters and Headquarters Company, 1-101st Air Assault, Fort Campbell, Kentucky. Died on July 8, 2003.

Army Sgt. Chad L. Keith, 21, of Batesville, Indiana.

Keith was on mounted patrol in Baghdad, Iraq when his vehicle drove past an object that exploded on the side of the road. Keith was assigned to the 2-325th Infantry, Company D, 82nd Airborne Division, Fort Bragg, North Carolina. Died on July 7, 2003.
