Zamora died in Baghdad, Iraq on Aug. 6, when an improvised explosive device detonated near his HMMWV while conducting a combat operations. Zamora was assigned to the Army's 2nd Brigade Troop Battalion, 2nd Brigade Combat Team, 101st Airborne Division (Air Assault), Fort Campbell, Kentucky. Died on August 6, 2006.

"It is everyday that we have to thank our soldier's. Honor them and tell them atleast how grateful we are to have them. At the end when there gone we regret for just not saying a simple Thank You. Thank God for sending such amazing people that I don't even know that are sacrificing themself's! Taking the risk to defend our NATION. I never met you or your wonderfull family.But I must share something with you this Memorial Day. As I sat here wrighting on my nephews sight(SPC.Raymond Loya White) who also fell in Iraq-11-12-04. Just doing a job, not really wanting to be there. Who does right? Well I was wrighting in remembrance of him and what all you men and women have done and are still doing in Iraq.
