Zamora died in Baghdad, Iraq on Aug. 6, when an improvised explosive device detonated near his HMMWV while conducting a combat operations. Zamora was assigned to the Army's 2nd Brigade Troop Battalion, 2nd Brigade Combat Team, 101st Airborne Division (Air Assault), Fort Campbell, Kentucky. Died on August 6, 2006.

I never met you or your wonderfull family.But I must share something with you this Memorial Day. As I sat here wrighting on my nephews sight(SPC.Raymond Loya White) who also fell in Iraq-11-12-04. Just doing a job, not really wanting to be there. Who does right? Well I was wrighting in remembrance of him and what all you men and women have done and are still doing in Iraq. A BIG THANK YOU for fighting for us who stay here and support you on the sidelines. I am going to thank each and everyone of these New Mexicans each and every Memorial Day.
