"I had the pleasure of serving with Ryan in Scout Platoon, 2nd Tank Battallion. Ryan was just a kid by age, but he was taken from us, a man. I will never forget his smile, and his overall good heart and attitude. I only hope that he and his family know that he did not die in vein. My heart and prayers go out to them. To Ryan, rest in peace brother, I miss you and sorry I couldn't have been there with you. Semper Fi."
