"SSG T, was my first squad leader and I was in the alley with him that day. Not a day goes by that I don't think about what happened that day. He was a great man, great leader and I miss him greatly even after almost 10 years. SSG T, took me under his wing and made me the leader I am today and I will forever be in his debt for that. I miss you brother!!!!"

"Its been 10 years since we served together in the 1st and 506 infantry division in the border of south korea and north korea. Like brothers we don't always agree on anything together. Charlie always separate us from getting in to each others nerve. He was my competitor and a great friend. We always compete who's the best. He was a specialists and I was a pfc at the time. I didn't say good bye to everyone when my orders came for a new duty station including Jr. I think everyone went to the field while I was packing to leave. Jr. you are a great soldier and a great friend your like my own brother. To the family of Jr. Tava'e, Your loss is my loss,God be with you and your family. Stands alone "bravo", currahee!!!!!!! "To the family of SSG. Loasa Tava'e,
As a soldier, I loved what I did while I was in the Army and that was being a "Grunt". Infantry soldiers are all a unique brand of men who would do anything and all to make our country proud of us. Thank you SSG. Loasa Tava'e for protecting our freedom by making the ultimate sacrifice, and to your family my condolences. I served with your younger brother Charlie in FT. Lewis and South Korea. I cant imagine the pain Charlie and your family is going thru right now.

You will always be in our hearts Brah!!"

"I was one of the Army Nurses who took care of SSG Tavae, and I was there with him in the ICU when he passed. I just wanted his family & friends to know that we did everything that was possible to save him, and that when he died he was surrounded and comforted by many of the soldiers from his unit. He was obviously very loved and respected by the men who served with him, and I was honored to have been able to care for him."

"Talofa lava to the family of "T". Words can never express the feelings you go through each day, and for that I am truly sorry for your loss. While in Iraq the APACHE COMPANY FAMILY was a warrior force second to none. In the Company were 3 of us Samoans, SSG Tava'e, SGT Tagovailoa, and myself, 1LT Seau. Along with us in the same base in Tall'Afar Iraq was SGT Snow and SSG Leatimua. Like our fathers bestowed upon us, "Uo i aso uma, Uso i aso vale", we had each other when things were rough, and it was really rough. As through trials, we will always have stories of the past, but hope it will strengthen our futures. "T" will never be forgotten in our hearts, as we lived and lost a part of ourselves in losing a Uso. We will all see him one day when we get there, but in this life we live, I know he would have wanted us to celebrate his life, and not mourn his death. He will always live on through us all. "You never said "I'm leaving",
You never said "Goodbye",
You were gone before we knew it,
And only God knew why

A million times we needed you,
A million times we cried,
If love alone could have saved you,
You never would have died.

In life we loved you dearly,
In death we love you still,
In our hearts you hold a special place,
That no one could ever fill

It broke our hearts to lose you,
But you didn't go alone,
For a part of us went with you,
The day God took you home

You are dearly missed
And forever in our hearts you remain
There was never a day
That we sit and pray, only if you stayed

WE LOVE YOU ALWAYS AND FOREVER...
WE MISS YOU NOW AND FOREVER MORE...
YOU ARE OUR TRUE HERO"
