"I never want to forget the sacrifices of so many young men and women. I am so proud it makes me cry at times. I understand, in theory only, that war is a part of human nature but so is love and caring. I wish I could take your families and friends pain away but I can't. I am committed to loving ALL people, myself and our environment. I am committed to working on my happiness everyday because so many have died for my freedom to live my life. Thank you is not enough but it is all I have. All my love and respect. ogersteiner@yahoo.com

A hundred times a day, I remind myself that my inner and outer life depends on the labors of other men, living and dead, and I must exert myself in order to give in the same measure as I have received and am receiving. - Albert Einstein"

"It's hard to believe that Bobby has been gone for almost one year. The door closes across the hall and I stop and wait for mine to open. You'd think that I'd had come to terms with his death by now but I have not. My husband, Brendan Lyons, and Bobby went off to together in late April of 2003 but only one was to return 15 months later. Bobby left behind a beautiful young son, Jacob, an adoring wife, Jill, family and friends all of whom loved him very much. I am sad that he is gone, but proud to have known such a wonderful individual. I will think of him often and remember him fondly. And so, I end with these last thoughts: Bobby loved being a tanker almost as much as he loved being a dad and "only the good die young".
Our thoughts go out to his family and other friends. I'm sorry for your loss but grateful for your and his ultimate sacrifice. All our love to all of those touched by this and other tragedies.
Respectfully,
Melissa, Brendan, and Alex"

"To the family and friends of Robert Roberts: I am a friend of Damian Bushart, who perished with your son on November 22. God bless him for his friendship to Damian and his sacrifice in Iraq! The knowledge that our soldiers did not die alone is a small comfort, but I know that they died doing what they believed was right. I extend my deepest sympathies. Thank you for the blessing that your soldier was to ours. We have photos of the two of them together, and their smiles remind us that they are still here with us in spirit. God bless!"
Renee of Waterford, MI

"Hello. I saw Robert in "People" magazine. I was delighted that they paid tribute to those that perished, instead of the usual star gossip.

I just want to thank Robert for his honor, bravery and courage. I also want to say to Roberts loved ones that I am so sorry for the loss!

He is in paradise now, God pick's his roses.

God Bless! <3 <3 glamgal4ever@yahoo.com"
