"Today I was assisting with the set-up of the "Field of Heroes" in Pocatello, Idaho. This event has taken place each Memorial Day for the past 9 years. Part of the volunteering was to remove the names of each hero from the crosses we were placing, to ready them for a new nameplate. I had pockets full of these names, which I left at the field. When I got home, I found that I still had one name in my pocket, Lance Corporal Robert G. Posivio III. I felt that there must be a reason he had stayed with me. I looked closer and saw that today is the anniversary of his death. I feel compelled to contact his family to let them know that in Pocatello, Idaho we place a cross for each casualty from Afghanistan and Iraq on a high school field that parellels Interstate 15 each Memorial Day, and your son is there with us. I hope that you can view NBC Nightly News on Memorial Day for a report of this event. Please know that your son, and your sacrifice, are not forgotten.
