"It's Tate, I'll never forget all the joking around in Japan and on ship. I still think about you all the time and I'll always remember how we watched each others back in Ramadi. You were a warrior that never let his fellow Marines down. Everyday I strive to better myself in honor of you. I'll see you again when I get called home.

"To the otey family:
I would really like to share that you son was an outstanding marine. I had the chance to work with him in okinawa japan and on the U.S.S. Essex. He was a hard worker and always had a smile on his face. I can picture him in my mind when he would pass through the mess line and he would make this wave like motion with his arm beacuse I would tell him that it was smooth sailing (lay back) during work hours. I deeply regret that I could not even say good-bye or what and impact he had in our lives. Otey if you can read this SEMPI FI DEVIL DOG!!!
