"SSG NELOM YOU ARE THE BEST EVER! I THANK YOU FOR ALL YOUR SUPPORT, MOTIVATION, AND YOUR GOOD WORDS OF WISDOM IN EVERY SUBJECT. I MISS YOU EVERYDAY AND I WILL NEVER FORGET OR STOP THINKING ABOUT YOU AS LONG AS I CAN THINK AND BREATHE. TO YOUR FAMILY I SEND MY DEEPEST SYMPATHY TO THEM AND WOULD LIKE YOUR FAMILY TO KNOW THAT ALL OF US 249TH (18TH QM) SOLDIERS THINK ABOUT YOU AND TALK ABOUT YOU EVERYDAY AND REMEMBER EVERYTHING THAT YOU HAVE TAUGHT US. WE ALWAYS TALK ABOUT ALL THE FUN YOU MADE OUT OF WORKING HARD LONG DAYS AND HOW YOU COULD ALWAYS MAKE US ALL LAUGH EVEN THOUGH WE WERE UPSET AND JUST WANTED TO GO HOME. YOU MADE US WANT TO STAY AND GET THE MISSION DONE. AGAIN I MISS YOU EVERYDAY."

"To the Family of SSgt. Regilio Nelom, My deepest symapthys and condolences go out to you and your family. Though I did not know him personally, I was there that night in Iraq. The blast that took your husband happened only feet away from me. Your husbands sacrifice allowed me to come home and meet my daughter, and for that I am forever in his debt. Believe me when I say that myself and my colleagues did everything we could to save his life. I feel compelled to leave this message to you in your time of grief. Please take comfort in the fact he gave his life so that the two other people in his truck and the three in ours could live and remeber his sacrifice. Again my deepest condolences and thank you."
