"Remembering what a good man Richard was, he took my son under his wings and was always offering to be there for him they were not just soldiers serving in Iraq together they were also neighbors in Georgia, my son will always be affected by his loss, we had the pleasure of meeting him before they deployed, he was definetly a son to be proud of, we miss you Richard, we kept your belongings in our garage, I will never forget that day my son asked for your things and the day he had to go back to Georgia after he just drove to Florida to see us after a yr of waiting for his return he turned around and went back to Georgia to help his family with his belongings, I dont think my son looked up to anyone like he did Richard, he has never been the same since, my heart goes out to his family and wife, I am so glad my son Shane got to know him and hopefully picked up some of his values, it is like losing a son myself that day,my son has tried twice to take his life since returning, I feel like I never really got him back he has changed a lot."

"Memorial Day 2012, Nap. Seems like yesterday that we got word. Today, Matt and I lift a glass to honor and remember you, Hux, Ruth and Justin. Today we show our unfailing gratitude, and I want you to know that you are loved. See you soon."

"Nap, I will never forget that long talk on the OP. I will keep my promise and visit Guam, and try spear fishing... I will not be able to hold my breath as long as you, but I will try. Miss you buddy. To Richard's family, he was an amazing soldier and man that I will teach my children about. Please accept my most sincere condolence for your loss, he told me about you and his plans to join the guards and be a Police Officer. He also told me some great stories about Guam and spear fishing. My favorite was the one when he thought he was standing on a reef, and it started to move, ending up being some sort of flat shark... We laughed together about that one. Richard will never be forgotten."

"We are very proud of Richard Junior D. Naputi!! Today (24 Sep 07), I met a man that knew him and his LT. His BN XO in Iraq told me of the bravery and selfless service that Richard and his LT made. They went into an area that was known to be a place that made IED...they took care of business by destroying the factory and future IED against our soldiers. I believe that their actions that day saved many lives. When people ask me if I am related to Richard I often see tears in their eyes. He is not forgotten and this Naputi is very proud of him. Let's continue to lift up the Naputi family in prayer and May God Bless Richard's family, the soldiers that are in harms way, Guam & America!"
