"I had the priviledge of being Eddie's Platoon Leader for a short time when he was first assigned to B CO, 3-69 AR. I was on the scene moments after the explosion that took Eddie's life. There is not a day that goes by that I don't think about Eddie and how the world is a lesser place without him. There are no words to ever ease the suffering your family feels at his loss. I will never forget Edward Myers as long as I live."
CPT Lance A. Baker of Petal, Mississippi

"I didn't know Spc Myers well but the last thing I remember of him was while I was attached to his company for a few days, he saw me reading my Bible on my bunk. He told me to open to John 15:13. He said it was his favorite verse and that it was a soldier's verse. Thank you Edward for laying down your life. You are a friend to all."
Spc Neil Smith HHC 3/69 AR of Detroit, MI

"To Everyone... I happened to serve with SPC Myers in Sammarra Iraq. I hadn't had the pleasure of knowing him too long since we were deployed a short time after we all got to Ft. Stewart. For the time I knew him, he was a very caring individual and always gave everyone the time of day.It didn't matter who you were. I was at the seen the day he died and to this day I still can't beleive he's gone. It was a very difficult day for all of us.I feel previleged and proud to have served in the same unit as spc myers did. We got back from iraq on Dec 31st 2005 and it just wasn't right not having him with us. I miss him very much as my heart hurts knowing I didn't get the opportunity to know him better. REST IN PEACE BUDDY."
