"Nov 2, 2003 was a bad day for us all. I was with Keelan the day before he died. He was my room mate in Hit, Iraq as instructors for the Iraqi Civil Defense Corps. I had given him a drawing of my daughter from an Iraqi soldier. He was going to c
take it home to my wife for me and then it was destroyed when he got killed. When the Iraqi soldier heard about SGT Moss death he cried and apologized on behalf of his countrymen. This is a man who had once been in Saddam's Republican Guard. That is the affect Keelan had on people's lives. Me and him were spades partners and dominoes partners. We use to get up every morning and I would play the "Star Spangled Banner" by Whitney Houston on my CD player and we would salute the American Flag hanging on the wall above my cot. He was a special kind of man . His smile and jokes would brighten your day. I miss him terribly and I will always use a SGT Moss special thst he use to say all the time. His last words to me were "That's what's up" well heaven is up and that is where you are. I LOVE YOU BROTHER!"
SSG William Mattingly of Fort Wainwright AK

"I knew him as SPC Moss. I served with him in Iraq during this tour. I remember him as an outstanding young soldier. He always preformed all of his duties with a smile. I pray that the good lord will always be watching over his family and loved ones. "Least we forget that some gave all for our freedoms.""

"Wow where do i begin, well i must say thank you because you gave your life for our freedom. You know although your gone your never forgotten & it's funny bc sometimes I sit & think about you & I can still hear your goofy laugh & voice. I will always cherish the time that we spent together & all the memories that I hold dear to my heart & of course our son Keelan Jr. I still remember the visits when you would come home on leave as well as the phone calls. I remember one phone conversation we had when you called me crying & saying that you were scared & I told not to cry or be scared because god had your back & would protect you & we said a prayer together. You are truly missed Keelan & loved & although it hurts I know everything happens for a reason & god makes no mistakes so he knew best. K2 talks about you everyday,he packs your picture around with him,he tells all his friends about you because he is so proud of you. He misses you so much & he reminds me so much of you because he's the splitting image of in every way. I know you earned your wings & made it up there to the best place on earth & that you're smiling down on all of us so for that my heart can be at ease because I know we will all see you again so rest easy & r.i.p."

"To the Moss Family I served in Iraq with Sgt Moss we use to talk almost everyday. The last night of his life I was coming back from the states and he was going out; We passed each other in the staging area before you board the helicopter and I told him to have fun he said I will. Less than 24hrs later he was gone. I think about my friend everyday. God bless his family."

"Man it has been 5 years now man, and I still talk about you and the ones that died that day. I was a SPC..you known me as "Doc" and my memory of you is so great. We were all about to gather in this small room to watch Texas v.s Arkansas play football. All you talked about to me all day was how TExas was gonna win. Well needless to say, when it was over and Texas didnt win, you were telling everyone you knew Arkansas would win. I cant remember the connection you had with Arkansas, but that was your excuse. Man you funny, smart, and a wonderful NCO. You Rest in Peice my fellow Non-Commissioned Officer. I wear the stripes for men such as your self. See you someday in Heaven my brother! Ft. Sill was the good Ol' days....I am back in Iraq again for 15 months. GOd Bless your family!"

"From a former 2/5 FA "Doc" to his brother in arms: The first Graduation day from the Iraqi Civil Defense class had the students dancing in the courtyard, and you were there right beside them - the joy of the moment reflected in your smile and the students smiles as they watched you move to the music. I can see you dancing my brother - I can still see that wonderful smile and hear that addicting laugh. I remember the joy you got from the moment, and I have never forgotten the lesson you have taught me about the moments of joy that happen in this short life of ours. I know that you are still dancing and laughing and smiling - in my mind and memory - that's how it will always be. I will see you again someday - tell me a joke or a funny story so that the tears will be forgotten, okay? I'll see you then..."
HM2 Peter A. Gutierrez of Camp Lemonier, Djibouti - Horn of Africa

Keelan was an outstanding soldier that I couldn't catch if I wanted to (either professionally or on the PT Test). I cried when I eard about my 2-5 FA brothers. It angered me beyond words. I wasn't with his unit then, but the loss hit me just as hard. Keelan, you will be missed and will be in my thoughts always. Goodbye Moss."
