"Sean I just want everyone to know how much I thought of you. What a fine young man you were. Big and always in charge but always with a great attitude. Although we weren't together very long I came to know and respect you very much. A day never goes by when I don't think of my boys. Rest in peace my friend and may God bless and keep your family in his loving arms."

"Sean it's me "Cookie". I love you brother and will always remember the times we shared at home and in Iraq. I'm a mess without my brothers. It seems like yesterday everything was just fine but today will never end. My flag will always fly at half staff.

God Bless

"God only takes the BEST or CHOSEN ones! I do not know Sean or his family but I do have a metal bracelette which has his name engraved into it. I cannot remember where or when I got this. I think I sent a contribution to a fund for fallen heros and they sent me this bracelet. I was going through my jewelry box tonight and pulled it out. I never knew anything about Sean until tonight. I am sitting here with tears in my eyes and feel so HONORED to have this bracelete with Sean's name on it. I found this site by looking up his name. I cant wait for the day to come that God will call my name and then I can tell Sean what a wonderful Man that he is.. . .."

"Dear Denise and sean's family-
my family and i were so very honored to have known Sean, with his humor and blatant honesty,(like me) all the skull t shirts and rock n roll music. he was the real thing. in 2001,when i first arrived to fort riley,my ex wife, stepson and I rented an apartment in ogden kansas, off post. guess who our neighbors were upstairs?(alliance property management) yup/ sean and denise. we became very good friends. later when we moved on post, guess who our neighbors around the corner were? yup, sean and denise:)sean and i would go fishing together, and we would watch "wrastlin" with my son daniel.at the steakhouse in manhattan, sean challenged daniel to a steak eating match. sean lost:) (daniel, now 11, still speaks of him every time we watch wrestling). then much later when i was leaving the army to go home, sean, denise and friends got together to throw me a going away party. i will NEVER forget my brother.
when i heard the news through georgia and bear,i hit my knees.he had written me a couple of emails before it happened. i still have them in my inbox. i still tear up from time to time. i have wanted for 4 years now,to tell you how much i loved sean as a friend,as a fellow soldier, and as a person. i have many stories i remember.when i feel sad,I think of his big smile, and him saying "awe, dont worry about it man."
i know that sean is in heaven, because i had been working on him about the lord from the first week i knew him. i am not solely responsible or take credit however, but sean later told me he had asked the lord to come into his heart, and be his saviour, and that he had been thinking about becoming a father. i was and am, very proud of him,and i remain very happy about his revelation to go to god..be proud of your son,for he is a hero and sits next to the king of kings.-Davidredhawk@earthlink.net"

"To the family and friends, and all others who still hold Sean in their hearts.

Although I did not know Spc. Mitchell personally, i'm the proud owner of his hero bracelt. I wear it daily, a constant reminder of all our soldiers abroad. I'm sorry for your loss, and I hope you take comfort in knowing that more than just the immediate family and friends will miss this fallen soldier."

"Tomorrow, March 31st, marks the 2 year anniversary of Sean giving his last full measure of devotion in service to his country. Not a day goes by that I don't think about those five heroes. Not a day goes by that I don't honor their sacrifice. I am profoundly sorry that the cost of our liberty is so high. Things happen for a reason. We can't always understand why as hard as we try.

I wanted to write this note because I love my son and wanted to honor him on the anniversary of his sacrifice.

At the rising of the sun and at its going down, We remember them.
At the blowing of the wind and in the chill of Winter, We remember them.
At the opening of buds and in the rebirth of Spring, We remember them.
At the blueness of the skies and in the warmth of Summer, We remember them.
At the rustling of leaves and the beauty of Autumn, We remember them.
At the beginning of the year and when it ends, We remember them.
As long as we live, they too will live;
for they are now a part of us, as we remember them.
Rest in Peace Dear Soldier!! We will NEVER FORGET!""
