25, of Salem, Massachusetts.
Mejia died in Marez, Iraq, of non-combat related causes. He was assigned to the 4th Squadron, 14th Cavalry Regiment, 172nd Stryker Brigade Combat Team, Fort Wainwright, Alaska. Died on May 31, 2006.

"I knew Sgt Benjamin Mejia, we were stationed in Ft. Wainwright, AK when he got deployed with the 172nd Stryker Brigade shortly after he left, my unit also deployed to Iraq.
