"As Memorial Day approaches, we think of our soldiers that gave their lives for our freedom and for the people in Iraq. Clint and Tracy should not have died in that incident, it should not have happened. The families still mourn and love their brave soldiers. A special salute will go out to them on Monday...and a prayer for their families. God Bless You Clint."

"Thinking of Clint - I've just spent the weekend with Clint's mom and Aunt Donna and other family members. Many times Clint's name was brought up during the visit. Each time with a smile while remembering him. I had the privledge of viewing the taped service at Arlington with THE GIRLS and I can't say how much it touched me. Clint and all of our service men and women are true HERO's - then, now, and forever. Our thoughts are with them all. Love ya!"

"To the Family of Matthews
Friends come in and out of our lives, some quicky leave our memories and some hang on forever...A man is not dead until he is forgotten, Matthews will never be forgotten...The love that once was born can not die, for it has become part of us, of our life, into the very texture of our being, each of us would wish to leave some part of ourselves, so here and now we bear witness to the one we knew in life, who now in death bequeaths a subtle part, precious and beloved, which will be with us in truth and beauty, in dignity, courage and love to the end of our days.
I am truley sorry for your loss. Though I did not know him it is sad to hear...you are in my prayers...May God bless you"

"TO THE FAMILY OF CLINT MATHEWS
********************************
MY HEART GOES OUT TO YOU, I REALLY DON'T KNOW HOW TO HEAL A HEARTACHE AS A RESULT OF LOSING A CHILD. CLINT AND TRACY ARE HEROES. THEY WANTED TO GO AND FIGHT FOR THEIR COUNTRY. THEY ARE TRUE AMERICANS AS ALL OUR SOLDIERS THAT ARE OVER THERE OR HAVE BEEN OVER IN IRAQ. IT ISN'T JUST FOR IRAQ'S FREEDOM. IT IS FOR OURS. THEY KNEW IT WAS EITHER FIGHT OVER THERE OR HAVE IT HERE IN AMERICA. WE HAVE TO RID THE WORLD OF TERRORIST, IF WE ARE TO LEAVE IN PEACE AND FREEDOM. IT WAS CLINT'S AND TRACY'S MISSION. GOD PUTS EVERYONE HERE FOR A PURPOSE, AND THIS WAS THEIRS. WHAT WONDERFUL MEN THEY WERE. TRACY WAS VERY SPECIAL TO ME. HIS MOTHER AND I ARE LIKE SISTERS. HIS MOTHER FAY IS MARRIED TO MY EXHUSBAND AND SHE CONSIDERED ME HIS STEP MOTHER. WE HAVE A VERY CLOSE KNIT FAMILY. TRACY WAS HER ONLY SON, SHE SHARES MY SONS WITH ME. SHE IS A WONDERFUIL STEP MOM TO THEM. THEY ARE TRACY'S BROTHERS. (STEVE WEST AND J D WEST. THEY LOVED TRACY VERY MUCH. WE ALL ARE SO HURT FROM OUR LOSS. I THINK OF HIM EACH DAY, BUT I HAVE SO MUCH PAIN FOR HIS MOTHER AND HER LOSS, AND ALSO TO YOUR LOSS. WE WILL NEVER UNDERSTAND WHY THEM. THERE IS NO ANSWER.THE ONLY WAY I CAN UNDERSTAND IT, IS TO KNOW THAT THEY DIED DOING WHAT THEY BELIEVED IN. NOT MANY PEOPLE GET TO DO THIS. SOME LOVED ONES ARE LOST WITHOUT THEIR FAMILIES EVER KNOWING WHY THEY LIVED OR WHY THEY DIED, OR WHAT THEIR MISSION WAS.CLINT AND TRACY FOUGHT AND THEY DIED SO WE COULD LIVE IN FREEDOM AND PEACE AS MANY HAVE DONE IN THIS WAR AND OTHER WARS. THAT IS WHY WE ARE WHERE WE ARE TODAY. WE WILL ALL MISS THEM SO VERY MUCH, AND WE ARE SO PROUD OF THEM. YOU WILL BE IN MY PRAYERS."
