"I never want to forget the sacrifices of so many young men and women. I am so proud it makes me cry. I understand in theory only that war is a part of human nature but so is love and caring. I wish I could take the families pain away but I can't. I am committed to loving ALL people, myself and our environment. I am committed to working on my happiness everyday because so many have died for my freedom to live my life. Thank you is not enough but it is all I have. All my love and respect. ogersteiner@yahoo.com"

"To the family of Cedric Lennon,
On 25 November 2008 at 11:00 AM the 2d Stryker Cavalry Regiment and the 2d Cavalry Association will gather in Vilseck, Germany, to commemorate a monument to our fallen brothers from Operation Iraqi Freedom. SPC Cedric Lennon will be honored on that day. His name will be engraved on the face of a permanent black marble monument along with his fallen comrades. The monument will be located in a park of 50 trees which will form a living memorial to these fine young Soldiers who have given the ultimate sacrifice for our Nation.
On that date and at that ceremony we will also honor the families of these Soldiers. We truly hope that the families can participate in the ceremony. It is the wish of the 2d Cavalry Association and the 2d Stryker Cavalry Regiment to place a personalized flag case and flag for each of these fallen heroes in the hands of a family member.
We are requesting that these families contact us via email at deddygetty1@comcast.net to learn more about the ceremony and how they can participate.

"To the family and friends of SPC Lennon. I just wanted to say that he is still in my thoughts and think of him each time I drive from MS to GA and see the exit for West Blocton. I worked with Lennon and were both were assigned to RHHT 2 ACR. He always had something funny to say and provided the Kool-aide when we were sweating in the desert in Iraq for us! He was a good person, and I will never forget you. Rest in Peace. I miss you.

"I remember having a party in front of my barracks and everybody was there and Cedric kept us laughing with his stories and jokes before we deployed to Iraq in 2003, he'd go to my room sometimes and ask for a Bud Lite beer and he'd have one reserved for him of course, I saw him that morning before he passed away, I waved at him and he waved back and that was the last time I saw him, it hit me hard that day when we lost him. I hope he has a Bud Lite for me when I see him again."

"TO ALL WHO KNEW SPC LENNON:
I was stationed with Cedric at Fort Polk LA. and I also served in Iraq with him in 2003. Cedric was one of the easiest going guys that I knew! I will never forget September 11th 2001. I was at work with the rest of my platoon and he was the first to show up to our location and tell us about the whole incident. He was very passionate about his job and loved to make people smile. Cedric I will never forget you, especially now that I have returned to Kuwait for my second tour. Peace be with you and may your family be strong!!"
Josh Doedtman of Arab, AL. United States

"In Loving Memory..Its been a year..

At the rising of the sun and at its going down, We remember them.
At the blowing of the wind and in the chill of Winter, We remember them.
At the opening of buds and in the rebirth of Spring, We remember them.
At the blueness of the skies and in the warmth of Summer, We remember them.
At the rustling of leaves and the beauty of Autumn, We remember them.
At the beginning of the year and when it ends, We remember them.
As long as we live, they too will live;
for they are now a part of us, as we remember them.
Rest in Peace Dear Soldier!!We will NEVER FORGET!"

"They wear the uniform
Proud and true
They protect our Nation
For me and you.

They give of themselves
So unselfishly
They leave their homes
And their families

They are on foreign soil
In a foreign land
Our men and women
Who are taking a stand

They are on guard
Day and night
They are weary for sleep
But prepared to fight

They see death and destruction
In this war torn place
But its all worth the effort
When they see a smiling face

They remember why they are there
Through all the sadness and sorrow
Its to ensure for the children
A better tomorrow

May god keep and protect the men and women who have chosen to protect us and our nation...""
Sgt Wes Campbell USMC 3/2 of decatur alabama
