"You and your family don't know me but I have been impacted by your story and want to thank you and your family for the sacrifices you have made for our country. I was given your name for a history assignment my sophomore year of high school, I am now 21 years old and you still haven't left my thoughts. I am grateful for your service and want you and your family to know that I think of you often and although I never met you I feel honored to know even a piece of your story. I pray for you and your family often and wish I knew more I could do. You have touched me and inspired me to help soldiers and veterans through various volunteer efforts and I hope somewhat selfishly that that is something you and your family would be happy about. Thank you for serving your country and protecting my freedom."

"I never want to forget the sacrifices of so many young men and women. I am so proud it makes me cry. I understand in theory only that war is a part of human nature but so is love and caring. I wish I could take the families pain away but I can't. I am committed to loving ALL people, myself and our environment. I am committed to working on my happiness everyday because so many have died for my freedom to live my life. Thank you is not enough but it is all I have. All my love and respect. ogersteiner@yahoo.com"
