"Dear Higgins,

First, let me offer our deepest condolences to your family, in the loss of James, obviously, such a fine young man, a true HERO!

I came across your story regarding James dream to build a memorial to our lost.

As I began to read more, I felt compelled to sign yet another memorial page, for another HERO, another "son"...another one "I Can't Forget!"

"THANK YOU" is NEVER enough!

I'd like to also offer my condolences through song, my online music ministry...nothing is sold, and,
ALL downloads are free.

www.ItIsTheSoldier.com

There are approximately 70+ songs under "Free Downloads", many inspired by soldiers, police, firefighters, 9/11 and, my son, "my" soldier.

My name is Susan D. Wiseman, known as "The Tribute Lady" due to a number of tributes written over the last few years...but, I'm just a housewife, mother of a soldier myself...and, I too, have felt the loss of a loved one to war.

I lost my cousin, Guy Lamar Mears, Jr...KIA in Vietnam, when I was only 16.

And, My youngest son, SPC David Dale depoyed to IRAQ, Oct. 2006... on May 22, 2007 he was wounded, suffering from TBI was flown to Germany's Landstuhl, eventually returning to Fort Hood, Texas.

However, our hearts remain with our ALL of America's sons & daughers fighting to protect our freedoms & extend freedom to others.

My music is my personal "THANK YOU" to ALL those who serve our nation.

My husband & I share my simple songs from my heart as we perform by request all across this nation for our troops & vets.

I'd like to share the lyrics below with you, of one ny tribute songs, titled...

"Her Hometown Heroes" - (Daniel's Song)

Now, it applys to James, by name in my heart & prayers.

May it be a blessing to you, and, bring you comfort in some way.

In Christ's service,

( Daniel's Song )

They were ... young,
But, they ... stood tall.
And, They were ... the BEST ... of us, ALL !

America's sons & daughters,
Husbands, wives ... sisters, brothers
Mothers, Fathers ... from all walks ... of life.

Marching on ... to a Higher call
Our "Hometown Heroes" ... Rise ... Fall,
Paving the way ... to Liberty
Defending ... Freedom's Ring!

( Chorus )

They were ... the BEST
That, she had ... to give!
Our "Hometown Heroes"
Who had barely ... begun ... to live.

When, they heard ... a Higher call
"Her Hometown Heroes" ... Rose up, one & ALL !

They were ... the BEST !
She had ... to give, "Her Hometown Heroes"
And, when ... they heard ... a Higher call
"Her Hometown Heroes" ... Rose again, and gave their ... ALL !

"Is there a website where I can make a donation? I saw his story on CBS and I was stunned when I saw he was from Thurmont, Md.
I grew up in Walkersville and am now a very successful business man (and Army Vet) living in San Diego. I would like to make a substantial donation to his mother who is raising money for a foundation. Anyone know any info? Please contact fitnessdiet@gmail.com"

"I, like a lot people here, just read the account of how the doctors tried to save Lance Corporal James Higgins.

To the family-I am so very sorry for your loss. My words nor any other words can "make it better".

He died doing what he believed was the right thing. He died a hero. He died in bravery and honor.

But he is now living a new life.

Just know that your baby boy is at rest with Jesus now. Your son is in Heaven. No more tears, wounds, wars, heartaches, or stress. Only positive things. Only happy things. Only things that are of God.

Your son is at peace, resting at the feet of Jesus-happily awaiting your arrival.

Your son sees you and does not want any more tears. Just remember the good stuff and look forward to seeing him again."

"I just read an article about the efforts to save the life of Lance Cpl. James W. Higgins. The story of how he was wounded was not the focus of the article. It was about how his fellow service members tried to save him. Their efforts are daily and I think in his death we must recognize their efforts. They are all good people in a difficult situation. Tonight, I will say a prayer for him, his family and those at Camp Taqqadum, Iraq. May everyone, somehow, find peace in this loss. The beauty in this tragic situation is the care that his fellow service members showed him and this young mans devotion to service of his country."
Cory of Harrisburg, Pa.
