"Gone from my touch, but never my mind. Gone from my sight but never my heart. Kyle it's almost been 3 years since you left me and it has taken me this long to even get enough courage to leave a message. There isn't a day that goes by that I don't think about you and the last phone call you made. I keep trying to make sense of everything in my head but I just keep going around in circles. If I could do it all over again I would tell you how much I loved you instead of waiting until you came back home like we said we would. I have fallen in love with your entire family and am blessed to have them in my life. You were and will always be my HERO. I will love you forever Cpl Kyle "Danger" Grimes"

In the middle of my portrait i found out Kyle had died. So my V.G.A teacher decided that she would help me paint a portrait of Kyle as soon as i was done painting my protrait of James L. Pettaway. My school was in the SUN paper and on CNN because of this powerful display. We all truly honor these soldiers and im sorry for their families loss. Rest in Peace Kyle J. Grimes and James L. Only a mother knows another mother's broken heart. This does not mean that the suffering of others is less than ours, at all, just that one mom knows the heart of another angel Marine's mom. God's strength and grace.
