"To the Grez family: I was a member of Bravo, in a different platoon than Jourdan; he was in 1st Platoon and I was in 3rd. I didn't know him well, but one thing that always stood out to me was that he almost always had a smile on his face. He was always joking around and trying to improve everybody's spirits. Even though I didn't know him well he was still a brother and to this day I grieve for his loss. I still remember where I was when I heard he had died, and the shock that ran through my body. I pray that his family and friends and loved ones find comfort and the strength to go on, and for his best friend Ben.

God bless."

"Jourdan was like a brother to his fellow marines. I will never forget the amount of courage and performance on the battle field that he displayed. Through all of the sleepless nights and hard fighting days that took place during Operation Matador, Jourdan was always their to cheer up his fellow Marines after the toll was mounting on our squad due to a determined enemy that we were up against. We stuck together and gave one hell of a fight that I am sure devestated and disrupted the foreign fighters ability to fight. Even after all of our squad's losses, the enemy never broke our will to destroy them. Jourdan is a TRUE HERO and will never be forgotten. Semper Fidelis!"
Ryan G. King of Roanoke, VA

"Jourdan is a good man and one of the best Marines I know. There will always be an empty spot in 1st platoon formation where you should be standing, brother. I'm glad I got the chance to know you."
